Re: INSURANCE for over 70’s for 60 days

Thanks Alan. We too have ADAC but whether EHIC is any use soon will be debatable

We decided to go to Scotland via Chester, Liverpool , Bamburgh York and NORWICH!!  The latter was the one bit oh the UK we didn’t finish as Duncan got called back to Nigeria urgently.  So it’s a good time to do it. We did Scotland two years ago but his ex boss is 87 and now has start of altzhemiers.  So thought we should go again. Their only daughter had died at 38 and we’ve always kept in touch and seen them often

We’re booked end August for 8 weeks as usual

I would suggest looking here Carol for a few quotes:-
<https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel-insurance/>

For many years I stayed with NFU for all house/home and car/motorhome
insurance.  Just over 3 years ago, I started to look elsewhere and
have saved many hundreds of pounds since by changing insurer at most
renewals, unless the increase was minimal.  i.e. the extra effort was
not worth a small saving.

Our France Passion arrived yesterday and our European travel plans are
on hold until the brexit mess is resolved for the next few months.

Apart from the ADAC insurance and the European Health Insurance Card,
we don't use health travel insurance.

Alan.

INSURANCE for over 70’s for 60 days

Carol Weaver

Trying to sort out travel insurance

Have bought CCC travel insurance for last three years. Cost £102 pp travel plus medical for me £9.70 and Duncan £11.92

Now nothing’s changed at all no pills nothing. No visits to hospitals

I am diabetic with insulin and high blood pressure

Duncan had a stent privately in May 99 as he was due to return to Nigeria in the Delta with no medical facilities close except by boat or helicopter. He had just one angina attack but no other problems. This was on advice of Consultant as he didn’t want to be responsible sending him there.  Since then Duncan has never used a puffer and walks at least a mile on our treadmill for 5 days a week   He only takes an aspirin and a simvastin suggested at that time as precautionary

Now none of the rest changed except today his medical cost came out as £211.92!!!

Why?  I asked her to check it out. She said it was all ok

I’m just lost for words

Who else do you use

I realise we all gave different medical problems

But 20 years without ANY change should drop not increase!!

Amazing how much space there is here once they issue a flood warning!

MHs outnumber caravans about 5:1 - can see why CC changed to CMC.

Now your choice?  Enjoy

Re: Upholstery

About 12 years ago we used Regal in Ilkeston. They were very good. We’d bought a new Hymer 544 which had all the bits on we wanted except leather upholstery. They replaced the blue & white stripes with cream leather in a day.
About a year after selling that van we came across a similar van on the next but one pitch in Cornwall. It had all the extras I’d ordered but had the blue & white striped upholstery. I told the guy this and he said that it was he same van. I’d retained our number plate. They’d been told it was coming in and we’re very disappointed that we’d changed the upholstery so changed it back!

The guy also made me a matching cushion for the drivers seat which I still use - brilliant for long runs.

Hello

The seats in my MH are starting to become rather tatty and a bit threadbare so as I like the van a great deal and there doesn’t seem to be any viable replacement I would like the seats reupholstered.

Has anybody got experience of reupholstering/reupholsterers please.

Just picked this from Facebook

It’s with a heavy heart I’m writing this, my Dad Brian Marsden sadly passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning. Little did I know that seeing you on the Saturday evening would be the last...nothing could have prepared us for the news that unfolded that day. You will be greatly missed by many. 💔💔

Below are the timings and arrangements for the Funeral. Just one more item that’s not on the order of service. Please join us after at the Ashridge Club at 1630. If anyone needs anymore information then please message..

....

Sadly as Brian used to post on the old list
