Mid guy connection

Is there a way to add a connection part way on a guy rope so the same guys can be used to guy the tower when the top section is lowered?

Hi group!

Here are some ideas:

  • When the tower is retracted, you can tight the rope to any smooth point (not sharp or abrasive). For that purpose, you can use any connecting element.
  • If you want to make a fixed point on the guy rope for using as an alternative “end”, you can use a simple knot around connecting element – I am using this chain link. The breaking strength (BS) decreases about 20 to 40 %, so WLL (Working Load Limit) remains below the BS.
