The downing of the US drone has been a gift to Ukraine. Here in the U.S. there is "news" coverage about it nearly 24/7. They show over and over the drone video of the Russian jet hitting the drone. Then they have the same interviews with the same military tops over and over. I think the effect will be to bolster popular support for US military aid to Ukraine. And on that subject, the latest Gallup poll showed that in August of last year 66% of Americans said the US should support Ukraine reclaim lost territory while 31% said the US should end the conflict quickly, even if Russia keeps some territory.
