Except for the reliance on built up immunity. There is no actual evidence of any immunity being built up by anyone who has "recovered". So to throw society in the direction of non-existent herd immunity would be genocide.
So far any immunity has shown to last only a few months and that is only relevant to the same strain suffered upon first infection. Nations do not have the intensive care facilities to cope with the numbers of patients that would result from this strategy. Even if most of them survive, there is evidence of long term lung damage, brain damage and heart problems resulting from infection by covid. But I guess that's OK as long as capitalism is kept alive.
