It's not your place to decree what is and isn't "proper" here.   When you smear the likes of Karadjis, Reimann, and Bpynton, you are attacking people who represent the best of Marxmail.  And who or what do you have to offer in place of these fine comrades?

Antisemitism and the Left: Confronting an Invisible Racism

"This text focuses primarily on the left in the United States. American leftists often tend to see antisemitism as primarily a European phenomenon, one mostly restricted to the distant past. Certainly, there have been a few attempts to address contemporary antisemitism on the left, such as April Rosenblum’s pamphlet

The Past Didn’t Go Anywhere

(2007), the Marxist Humanist Initiative essay “Beware of Left Anti-Semitism” (2011), the collective open letter “Not Quite ‘Ordinary Human Beings’—Anti-imperialism and the Anti-Humanist Rhetoric of Gilad Atzmon” (2012), Spencer Sunshine’s “The Left Must Root Out Antisemitism in Its Ranks” (2017), and “Understanding Antisemitism: An Offering to Our Movement” from Jews for Racial and Economic Justice(JFREJ 2017). However, these resources remain largely unknown and invisible. Most non-Jewish Americans are unaware of the long history of antisemitism in the United States, which if acknowledged at all, is understood as a problem of the past and not the present. By contrast, we will demonstrate that antisemitism continues to be a threat globally, including in the United States."

Good to see some details on union wealth. I have been writing about this sort of thing for a long time. Most of the left puts the decline of the US labor movement to outside forces, such as labor law, the courts, hostile political climate, and so forth. But the internal state of unions is surely an important factor. Look at any analysis of the once iconic United Farm Workers Union, for whom I once worked. Yes, the California political climate shifted to the right. But Cesar Chavez and his allies in the union did incredible damage to the union's capacity to organize and build a movement. When I pointed this out, pretty mildly, in a Nation article in 1977, the union's lead attorney threatened legal action against the magazine. Soon enough this attorney was more or less purged from the union. Today, to put it charitably, the union is a quasi-racket. The same is true of many unions, e.g. the United Auto Workers, the SEIU, almost every construction union, and many others. Praise poured down on the late AFL-CIO president, Richard Trumka, at his death. A more useless labor leader is hard to imagine. Unions once built hospitals, housing developments, recreational facilities, etc. Now, the put their $ into high salaries for staff, travel perks, and all manner of waste.

(JTA) — Bruce Reinhart, the federal judge in Florida who signed the warrant allowing the FBI to raid former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property on Tuesday, has been hit with a wave of antisemitic threats online.

The outburst has appeared on right-wing social media platforms and message boards, where users have published the judge’s name, address and personal information. Threats have been directed at his children and supposed family members as well.

Reinhart, who appears to be a member of the board of Temple Beth David in Palm Beach Gardens, has been a magistrate judge for the Southern District of Florida since 2018.

Calls for violence have accompanied antisemitic slurs and conspiracy theories, many referencing how Reinhart represented former employees of Jeffrey Epstein during a case involving the late convicted sex trafficker in 2008. Prior to the Epstein case, Reinhart worked as a federal prosecutor and then in a private practice until 2018.

One user on 4chan, an online message board known for racist activity, wrote: “About that Judge that signed the search Warrant…Bruce Reinhart once quit his job as a U.S. Attorney to work for Jeffrey Epstein.” Another responded writing, “That is a k***. And a pedophile …  He should be tried for treason and executed.”

“I see a rope around his neck,” wrote a user on the separate pro-Trump message board formerly called TheDonald, according to Vice News.

The Mar-a-Lago raid concerned confidential documents that Trump allegedly removed from the White House when he left in 2021. Subsequent right-wing outrage from many of his supporters has included calls for civil war and abolishment of the FBI and IRS

WALTER LIPPMANN wonders if LEFT VOICE, like other perfectionistic tendencies, is putting an equals sign between Washington and Beijing? This is a prescription for abstention in a world-wide struggle. They said in Harlan County, there were no neutrals there. Which side is LEFT VOICE on in today's world?

So far, only ONE country in the world has dropped the atomic bomb on any other country in the world. That makes it the one country with the greatest potential for world war in the twenty-first century.

Pugliese doesn't get it. That's why he pours on diversionary rhetoric which only diverts attention from the solidarity which is actually needed at a moment like this.

Thank you Mark Baugher. As Michael Karadjis , whose political
principles, writing and research skills, have always been admired by
me said, and I agree : Of course I oppose the raids on this APSP-Uhuru
group. And, as I said, no-one has spoken in support of the raids."
Having been handcuffed twice , for hours, when a dozen L.A. Sheriff's
Dept. Deputies were looking for my step-Brother who had not been
reporting to his Probation Officer, I have some familiarity with what
a police raid can entail.
Walter Lippman and others who jump to invidious conclusions , have
over their decades in the Movement been acquired what I could call
Comrade Vyshinsky Syndrome, wherein they accuse political opponents of
"objectively counter-revolutionary," behavior and ideological opinions
, despite there being no evidence of such, either as expressed
subjective opinion or in concrete actions. Coming from someone
schooled in Trotskyism, as I might add, so were the Comrades in the
SEP who publish the WSWS , cited as a source on the other thread on
the APSP, yesterday, who as Healyites accused decades ago and still
do, https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2019/12/31/scfi-d31.html , the
scurrilous slanders on founding leaders of the SWP, this sort of
dialectical reversal , wherein those who were schooled by honorable
Trotskyists acquire a Stalinized mentality reaching for the tools at
hand , habitually used by Stalinists against Trotskyists and other
anti-Stalinist leftists , in the last century and ours now, is
symptomatic of the decline of political and ethical standards in a
sector of the left. As is , the main subject of my concern , in all
this, over the years, something Walter refuses to educate himself on ,
the fusionism between revolutionary left and far right , engaged in
promiscuously , in a manner which cannot be accidental , to engage in
a leftist activist trope, myself,

The right way to express solidarity with groups under attack by Washington

Walter Lippmann

Unlike Reimann and others of his ilk, here is an example of the right way to express solidarity with a political group under attack by the government:

LAST PARAGRAPH:
Solidarity with the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP), the Uhuru Movement, and allied organizations! Support their right to express their beliefs and to associate with people of their choosing in this country and abroad! Condemn the raids! No to political repression and intimidation!

Reflections on an impossible confederation between Taiwan and the PRC

Richard Fidler

Can Taiwanese Nationalists Think Zhonghua Once Again? Reflections on an Impossible Confederation Amid the Fourth Taiwan Strait Crisis

“However, if the drums of war are to be silenced, some basic framework must be re-forged to bring cross-strait relations back onto a peaceful track. There is a line of historical socialist thinking in Taiwan- one that stretches from at least Xie Xuehong to Chen Yingzhen- that once upon a time elaborated  the Sino as a necessary and productive category to think and manage cross-straits relations. It is this legacy that I propose remains  relevant today.

“For its part, Beijing must guarantee that no part of the Sino-world be subject to violence by any other part, and that differences across countries, states, ethnicities, and regions are respected.

“Yet is there anybody on either side of the strait that has the courage to think, no less speak, in these terms? Can the US intervention be stemmed? We are talking here not of forced reunification, nor of perpetual military gamesmanship, nor of the fantasy of outside hegemons keeping a chimerical peace. Rather, we are speaking of a quiet federalism of dignity, mutual recognition, and peace.

“This, it seems to me, is the only morally responsible position for progressive thinkers. Anything else is just goading on the forces of war.”

Lippmann says: Eight good words, even if they had to be dragged out of the author. Reimann and his ilk "forgot" to mention that, so remain, on the record, as effectively supporting the raids by PRIORITIZING attacks on the victims at the moment they are under attack.

Reply: Silly me, I hadn't realised this was the Inquisition. I was under the impression this was Marxmail.

But in that case, I will make my statement: Of course I oppose the raids on this APSP-Uhuru group.
And, as I said, no-one has spoken in support of the raids. Some people have made political criticisms of them. I know nothing about them, so won't say anything about that. But it's a curious idea, at least for a Marxism list, to confuse political criticism with support for state repression against a group. By that logic, any criticism of Saddam Hussein's "anti-imperialist" regime would have constituted support for the US invasion.

And from what I understnad about Lippmann's politics, that would probably would have been his view.

He posted information to the list, and you posted a smear. IMO, no one should have words put in their mouth for taking the time to research and report on a topic. If you don't like what he wrote, then provide alternative reporting. That would take some thought and intellectual effort. That would be welcome.

Apart from APSP-Uhuru, which I know little about, it's impressive what the Russian Federation is able to do in their international propaganda compared to the much wealthier west. It might be the legacy of the Comintern, which succeeded in disorienting the international left for decades to achieve the aims of the Soviet nation state. Who would have thought that they could align the US National Rifle Association and parts of Republican Party with the interests of the Russian nation state - along with left wing groups, regardless of any ASPS-Uhuru relationship, real or imagined.

What I found notable in the Michael's post is that it took so little money to trigger the FBI raid while millions pass seemingly unnoticed in campaign contributions, real estate and other transactions.
