something the reviewer did not mention. is that Izzy Stone was trying to get his book published in 1952 and NO PUBLISHER WOULD TOUCH IT ---- He happened to meet Paul Sweezy and Leo Huberman (co-editors and founders of MR) and was bemoaning his inability to find a publisher.  On the spot, Huberman and Sweezy decided to "create" Monthly Review Press so THEY could publish Izzy's book --- and so what came to be called the "University Press of the Left" in the 1960s and 70s was born --

Out of American publishers' cowardice (or knee-jerk anti-communism)  came a wonderful gift to the world ---
