Dave, I just tried to install 1.4.7.49 on a The Pi4. - (tr)uSDX is not in there and the TS-480 rig version (reg and sat) don’t work either – so 1.4.7.49 (alpha) is not useable for the (tr)uSDX….
On 1.4.7, the (tr)uSDX is not in there, but the TS-480 rig version run just fine Can you re-add the (tr)uSDX back into the alpha version please? Cliff, Yes, my bad…. I meant to say it is there but doesn’t work, nor does the TS-480 rigs….So I am DOA on .49 alpha….. Then, on 1.4.7 version, when I start up flrig, works just fine (using TS-480 rigs). As soon as I start up fldigi “it” does something that kills the receive audio (I have to remove USB and external power to reset the rig to get the audio back) Herb Dr. Herb Sims 256-656-2965 I want to tell the whole world that I love my wife and kids - what better way than one email at a time. Please describe exactly what happens with each of the rigs when flrig starts up. Just saying it doesn't work isn't helpful.

I start up flrig: (V.1.4.7.49) Config/setup/transceiver Rig: (tr)uSDX /dev/ttyUSB0 Baud: 38400 Hit init button…. Warning box pops up saying Transciever not responding Check serial (COM) port connection Open menu Configure/Setup/Transceiver Press “Update” button, reselect port Check that baud rate matches transceiver baud Press init button This happens with (tr)uSDX, TS-480SAT and TS-480HX (which is supposed to be the default rig control per (tr)uSDX people) So no rig that I select “works” – i.e. I get the above warning box regardless of which rig I select I start up flrig (V1.4.7) It works just fine with either TS-480SAT or TS-480HZ (there is no (tr)uSDX rig Audio output from the rig operates normally, frequency changes, etc….flrig works as expected When I start up fldigi (4.1.23), and AFTER the “Read macros from ….” Splashes across the receive screen the audio from the (tr)uSDX falls out completely (there is no phono connector in the received audio – just listening to the external speaker). The only way to get the audio back is stop fldigi, restart flrig (resets the radio) or unplug USB/external power to reset it that way…. I have built and rebuit 1.4.7 and 1.4.7.49 numerous times and still get the same errors…. Suggestions? Please describe exactly what happens with
each of the rigs when flrig starts up. Just saying it
doesn't work isn't helpful.
Yes, my bad…. I meant to say it
is there but doesn’t work, nor does the TS-480
rigs….So I am DOA on .49 alpha…..
Then, on 1.4.7 version, when I
start up flrig, works just fine (using TS-480
rigs). As soon as I start up fldigi “it” does
something that kills the receive audio (I have to
remove USB and external power to reset the rig to
get the audio back)

I just tried to install
1.4.7.49 on a The Pi4.
- (tr)uSDX is not in there and
the TS-480 rig version (reg and sat) don’t
work either – so 1.4.7.49 (alpha) is not
useable for the (tr)uSDX….
On 1.4.7, the (tr)uSDX
is not in there, but the TS-480 rig
version run just fine
Can you re-add the
(tr)uSDX back into the alpha version
please?

you are using the correct transceiver
selection for the actual hardware. For
example, one might assume that the FTdx10
and FTdx1200 have identical CAT commands
and replies. THEY DO NOT. Select the
wrong transceiver and you will waste your
time, the support team time, and the
developer team time.

If it still doesn't work then choose /dev/cuUSB0. I know of at least one person that found that the cu version of the serial port worked and the tty one did not. Makes no sense to me, but that solved his problem.

Dave, I just saw the Activate section (where the numbers were different). I changed my numbers to match yours….Still no joy. I verified the ch340/341 is already installed on the Pi. It is not showing up inside flrig as cuUSBO but is showing up as: by-id/serial/usb-1a86_USB_Serial-if00-port0
And I also see /dev/ttyUSB0
Both disappear when I disconnect the radio.
And another problem…..
Also, after a PSK31 transmission the radio hangs in some kind of wierd mode where there is no received audio. However, if I hit the PTT right after the PSK31 transmission is complete (and fldigi sends the radio back to receive) I get the receiver back in normal receive mode.
Suggestions?

Use the "by-id" entry in the serial list. Ignore the others.
FYI, on the Pi there is no cuUSB0. I was thinking you were on a Mac.
How do you end the PSK31 transmission, i.e. in a macro with <RX>? In typed free text in the transmit pane end it with ^r?

It does have that. I can see where the radio comes out of transmit mode and goes back to receive. It is at that point that I hit the PTT and then the radio has the sound back….. I’m going to revert back to 1.4.7 and just use the TS-480 rig control…. I am using the canned CQ message which has the ^r at the end. I can see where the radio comes out of transmit mode…at that point no audio…I hit the PTT on the radio and the sound then comes back.
