I'm still a little, well maybe a lot, in the dark here with the MCW addition to flrig. Flrig, when setup for the QDX, then changes the frequency of the rig to compensate for the waterfall offset? Since it's in flrig it is using the keyer window to do it? I don't see how the keyer could use the QDX. Sorry for being so dense.

Set fldigi to modem-CW, rig
mode MCW (same should appear in the flrig mode control). You
will need to adjust the CW sweet spot in fldigi to be same as
the CW tone in flrig, i.e 600, 700 etc. Set up fldigi
to show RF frequency in WF. Try monitoring the transmitted
signal on another transceiver, perhaps your 7300 while
transmitting on the QDX into a dummy load. Set the 7300 to CW-U
and the received signal frequency should correspond to the QDX
transmit frequency.
Nothing too complicated.

Ok, I see it now. Really no different if between two rigs using CW soundcard mode. Tried it with the 7300 in CW mode and the signal was at what shows as the center freq/logging freq plus the waterfall offset so If I was listening on the 7300 I would log the contact at 14072.000 when the QDX was showing 14070.700 and a waterfall offset of 2000. The way I see it, the frequencies would only match if I set the waterfall offset in fldigi/QDX to 0.0. Fldigi is not adding the 2000 to the logging freq display as it would if in USB mode.

Dave, W1HKJ
Let me explain again.
- set the CW tone on flrig
to 600
- set the CW sweetspot on
fldigi to 600
- QDX mode to MCW
- fldigi mode to CW with
flrig as rig control
- always send and listen @
600; use the QSY to move a desired signal to the 600 Hz
waterfall frequency

Thanks for your patience. I understand that part just fine. As a clueless user, one of many I fear whom do not use CW normally, the QDX user may not know they have to put the cursor to the sweet spot, but choose some other location on the waterfall that may be empty and not QSY to the Sweet spot. Everything appears to work, but the receiving station in USB or CW mode & fldigi in CW mode will see the signal at the cursor freq + the difference between the transmitting sweet spot and the waterfall freq. of the transmitting QDX so will log the contact at a different frequency than the transmitter.
I'm being the devil's advocate I suppose they would call it. Not sure how you could get the user of the QDX to know to work at the sweet spot freq only. Maybe any real CW user would know that.
Thanks for praying for us both. Lynne had a much better day today after 10 1/2 hours of sleep last night. She's almost herself now. Still needing to build endurance now that she can eat normally.
Have a blessed Lord's day.

Sorry everyone. I didn't notice that my emails were going to the group. I had thought it was a private conversation. I will try to be more careful in the future.
