Hi,
I've had my 01w pro x for a lot of years now... not always inspired to play it, I love the feel of the keyboard except for... well read below. I like ambient and unique sounding accompaniment for folk and rock, and the 01w presets, though beautiful and reminiscent of 90's movie music, without me delving into programming... just sounds a bit generic (again, a "beautiful" generic, but still un-unique). On the programming note: Guess I'm a little lazy, but it'd be nice to have a youtube video of someone editing on the 01w like this one of someone with the M1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNBbIMewmY0 I imagine the waveshaping if used in an aggressive manner could produce some really unique sounds. I also have a M1 and tend to play that more. There's fat quality to the presets on the M1 that I can sometimes get from the 01w at times after tweaking the settings and eq a bit. For me, the M1 is "fat," while the 01w is "clean". I used to also have the X5DR, which to me was kind of a mix between the M1 and the 01w, some juicy fatness, but also a lot of crystalline sparkle. THE BIG ISSUE I have with my 01w is the aftertouch takes way to much force. And yes, I have maxed out the settings that control aftertouch (both the software settings AND that little internal screw that I accessed when replacing the battery). I thought I remembered reading that you could pull up the strip that sits under the keyboard and do something to increased the sensitivity, but just can't recall and I really don't want to mess with it... My M1 has the most amazing aftertouch sensitivity, it works just great as a controller and had originally got my 01w so I could have that same excellent aftertouch along with 88 keys! ... but maybe I got a lemon I that department? Just sharing, Jeff |

It seems to me you’d be better off selling the 01 and getting another M1.

Internal screw? I know only about the small PCB with two trim pots. One should set the gain and the second one offset. Both has to be set to get optimal aftertouch response. It is the same as on Yamaha instruments. Daniel Forro
