Jackson County Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes, 8/10/19                       

Brad Arnold, K4NHA called the meeting to order.

Richard Arnold, KB4RMA gave the Treasurer’s report for July


Antenna Auction - $50.00

Shirt money - $264.00
Expenditures: $722.00 for shirt order

Current balance-$3616.75

2019 Dues collection is still in progress. Still have 2 members outstanding.

K4NHA gave an update on the 2019 CERT training class and HamCram training and testing session being held at the Jackson County Board of Education Teacher Resource center in August and put forth a motion for the club to purchase 10 more radios to be presented to the CERT trainees that are also testing for their Technician class license.

Motion carried and was passed by members present.

K4NHA then told the membership of how the 3 VE’s had been absorbing the cosst of ARRL license testing up to this point but would like for the club to pay the licensing cost for up to 14-15 tests to be administered on the same day. A motion for the payment was made and passed by the members present.

K4NHA announced the Jackson County Fair dates and that we were planning to once again be present at the fair along with EMA, CERT and Jackson County Fire Association.

K4JCH told of the success of the HARC Apollo special event at the Space and Rocket Center and then gave an update on Huntsville Hamfest which is less than 1 week away.

K4NHA updated the group on our idea to have a special event station for the Trail of Tears Ride and that after numerous emails he still had no response from the trail organization. Event is questionable at this time.

Open floor discussion consisted of Ben Lowe telling of HF contacts at a past Dayton Hamvention made from his bicycle. 

K4NHA called for a motion to adjourn, a motion was made, seconded and carried.
