Hi to all.
I have a new set of bone conduction headphones.
For some weird reason JAWS is cutting in and out on me.
I'm attempting to do the voice training bit for the mic that's in the
headset but it cuts in and out on me.
Any thought would be deeply appreciated.

Hi,

Try this as someone on the list gave these instructions.

* Go to your desktop and select your jaws 2019 icon on your desktop and press ctrl C to copy it to the clipboard.
* Press windows R to open the run box and type the following. Shell:startup
* Press enter and once it opens, you will be placed in the startup folder.
* Now paste your jaws icon in this folder.
* Close this folder and you should be back on your desktop.
Now the next time you restart your pc and login jaws should come up talking. This has worked for me on all my devices. HTH.

Hello Jorge;

you're absolutely right, unfortunately, finding this button to enable is very difficult.

I solve my issue doing the following;

If anyone is interested in using the Microsoft online tech support;

I have shortened the URL:

go to:

https://tinyurl.com/yc3ptybg

on this page, you'll need to provide your Microsoft username,

most likely you're email, or phone number,

go to next,

now you need to provide your password,

go next,

now you're being connected to a representative.

Note, I was at first a little reluctant, but I decided to surge on.

once you are connected,

you have a little text chat with the tech, outlining your problem.

note, jaws works well with the texting.

most likely, the tech will ask if you want a remote access session,

if you say yes,

a link, and a code are provided.

before you enter on the link, you need to copy the code to clipboard.

the link is something like,

www.123rescue.com

once you enter on the link,

the next task is to find the I agree button to the license agreement.

when this is done, you then need to put your code in, this will then allow you to install some temporary remote software.

your now finally able to be remotely accessed by the tech.

hope this helps someone.

Everything sounded good, but when you select less secure apps must be turn on. I had the same issue with Google.

HTH,

Jorge,

There is no better symbol for the purpose we serve than the emblem every Marine earns: the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. The eagle represents the proud nation we defend. It stands at the ready with our coastlines in sight and the entire world within reach of its outstretched wings. The globe represents our worldwide presence. The anchor points both to the Marine Corps' naval heritage and its ability to access any coastline in the world. Together, the eagle, globe and anchor symbolize our commitment to defend our nation—in the air, on land and at sea.

Good morning all;

perhaps someone has an answer here.  A client of mine wishes to use his yahoo email account in outlook 2016.

we are able to setup the email account, however it's not excepting the password. then I learned, you need to go into the info account settings, choose account security settings, then choose allow less secure apps.

however, I don't see any checkbox to check. has yahoo stopped access?

the email settings used are,

incoming server:  imap.mail.yahoo.com

outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

incoming port:  993 ssl/tls,

outgoing port:  465 or, 587 ssl/tls,

we are able to sign into his account on the web.

How do you copy text in Chrome

Mr. Ed

Hi All,

Seem to me someone posted something that had to be changed so you could copy info in Chrome and paste it in Word. Does anyone remember what had to be change either in Chrome or Jaws to make this happen? I am asking this question for another person.

Mr. Ed

Re: How do you copy text in Chrome

Glenn / Lenny

The way that works for me is to place a temporary place marker at one end of the text, with windows + control + K.
Then arrow to the other end of the text you want to copy.
Then do insert + space bar
Then press the letter M
Then do control + C to copy.

Howdy Señor Edwardo,

If you want to copy the text without all the formatting try the following
1. Open Chrome and then, press, Insert + V, to open Jaws quick settings
2. Arrow down to, Virtual Cursor Options, if it's closed, right arrow to open.
3. Arrow down to, Select and Copy.... and you'll hear either,  Select & copy From Virtual Cursor or, Select & copy from Full content using onscreen highlight.
4. If you hear, Select & copy from Full content using onscreen highlight, press the spacebar to toggle this to, Select & copy from virtual cursor, now tab to, Okay, press enter to save and close.
Take care.  Go Rams!

Hi, Señor Mike and Mr. Ed.

When you switch to the virtual cursor for copying, not only do you neutralize the format, but you also remove the links.

If you are a Word user, you can make  the copy as Mr. Ed describes while keeping the format consistent with your document by pasting the copied section not with control-v, but with the special paste command, control-alt-v. with this special paste command, you are given choices. I press the home key and select the last.

That said, I have the virtual cursor set as my default because it stops webpages from moving around when I’m navigating. However, I switch out of it when I need to keep the links intact.

Ok, let’s see if I can get this right! The server is the computer you are remoting to. So if you are at home and remoting into a work computer, the work computer is the server and your home computer is the client. If you have both ticked, then your computer in JAWS can act as either the server for someone remoting to it or the client for you to remote to someone else.

Have fun!

Hi okay I still have my Jaws 2018 on my system.

As well as the latest version of Jaws.

now I went to use the OCR future in Jaws 2019 and of course as Jaws always seems to do it says the OCR feature is not installed.

So I unloaded 2019 meaning i just shut it down and not uninstalled it.

Then I loaded my 2018.

And guess what the OCR feature works fone.

So then how to make the feature to work in 2019 as well?

You would think that that this feature should work all the time and not just when it wants to.

Or should I uninstall my 2018 and then how then would I go about making the OCR feature work in 2019?

Jaws Not Recognizing Check Boxes in Excel

Bond, Eric

Hi everyone,

I asked this question a week or so ago but did not get any responses. I will ask again as it is a problem I would like to overcome.

While navigating around an excel file jaws will not recognize check boxes embedded in the file. Jaws will say that the cell is blank when there is a clickable check box in that cell. Does anybody know how to get Jaws to tell me that there is a check box in a certain cell?

Is there a way to list the embedded objects in a cell?

Thanks,

Eric

Maybe you could give a bit more information about what you're trying to do?
I'm using Windows 10 and JAWS 2019.
I have an Adobe file in my documents that someone sent via email. Opened in Adobe, JAWS says it's an empty document .
If instead, I arrow to the file and press the context menu key and arrow down to
Recognize with JAWS
And press enter, JAWS tells me the scan is started and reads the document.
If I'm trying to read a restaurant menu from the internet, I usually download it and either use Adobe to read it, if it will, or go through the steps above to scan and read it. That also means I have the restaurant menu the next time I want it. Smile.
