Ron, be sure to put yourself in the folders list with control-y. Arrow down
or go by first letter to the folder you want to delete. Then pressing the
delete key should work. If not, please post again.

Hi to all.
I don't really want to go to the MS mail app.
I've tried it twice and had it removed twice.
I have WLM but it's starting to decay on me.
So, I've been practicing with the outlook mail program.
In my in box I have some mailboxes that I'd like to delete but I've tried
shift delete and no luck.
I've tried the app key and down arrowed looking for the delete key and no
luck.
I've even tried the ctrl key and delete and no luck.
Yes I was on the folder or AKA Mailbox I wanted to remove.
So any help and help with deleting mailboxes and or AKA folders would be
helpful.

Re: Other Keys for Closing Documents and Outlook

That can easily be change by going in to bios, choosing set-up, choosing action keys and changing it so the function keys behave as we need them to as screen reader users. You will require sighted assistance as there is no speech support in the bios, but I’ve talked many people who claim to be computer illiterate through the process, and it’s quite simple. I could not tolerate having to hold the FN key every time I needed to execute a command with function keys, it would drive me batty.

Hi,

You might also try the “FN” key plus the alt plus f4. I have to use the fn key on all of my function keys because, in their infinant wisdom, HP assigned all the function keys, when pressed by themselves, to other commands. HTH. Linda Yacks

Hello,

At work, I am using Windows and JAWS 2018 . Due to a special script, which is turning out not to be so special, I cannot use Alt, F4 to close many windows. Can anyone give me another manner in which to close these things?

I found it at one point but did not document it as I thought I would remember, however, age does some tricks on some people. I appreciate any help I can get so I can stop doing forced system swhen I have too many opened windows.

Thanks,

Michelle

Re: License

Hi Holger.

There is a difference in pricing between the jaws for home use and the professional version, although the functionality is the same. If you want my honest opinion it’s just another way for VFO to make money, but it is what it is. As far as whether you can put your own version of jaws on another pc, the answer is yes. When you purchased jaws you would’ve been given three activations, which means you can install it three times. If you’ve only activated jaws once since you purchased it, you will have 2 counts left, however resetting the license count is a simple matter of going to:

www.fsactivate.com, choosing the link to reset your license count, entering your serial number, and you’re all set. I’m not an expert on the legal issues surrounding installing jaws on more than one computer but my feeling is as long as you aren’t giving the license away, or selling it, you should be fine to install your copy on your home computer, school computer, work computer, etc.

I hope this helps.

Just check with jaws. So there is no difference if I purchase it or a business. The same price. $1100. I already Have a jaws in my PC at home. Just need to know if I can add it to another PC outside my home.

Ron,
When you are on a particular mailbox, try pressing the context key. It
should provide a whole range of choices including delete.
Hope that helps,

Re: Other Keys for Closing Documents and Outlook

Hey.

Ctrl-f4 will work for tabs, and “sub-windows”. It won’t close the programme but will close whatever page or document you have open. This works in mS Word, so it might for outlook as well. It also works in most (all?) web browsers, programmes, that have a tab structure, etc.

Otherwise, your best bet is to close a programme using its menus. Sometimes it’s as simple as pressing alt-f, x. This will work in outlook. This is usually a more surefire way to close a programme if the option is available, because some programmes stay running even if you use alt-f4, they just don’t have a window on the screen. An example is the torrent programme I use.
