Re: sending a screen shot

Yo Bro,

Try the following:
From:
Quentin Christensen
Press the print screen key to take a screen shot of the whole screen.
Press alt+print screen to take a screen shot of only the current program (not including the taskbar etc).
The print screen key is usually to the right of F12 on a full size keyboard, it is the first in the block of three which is print screen, scroll lock and
pause / break which are usually above the six pack navigation keys (insert, delete, home, end, page up, page down).
If you're using OneDrive on Windows 10, it will save to your OneDrive folder and / or to the "Screenshots" folder in your "pictures" library.
In any case, the image is also copied to the clipboard where you can paste it into an e-mail message, or Word document or image editor.
Regards
Quentin.
Take care.  Mike.  Go Dodgers!

Almost anything is worth trying. :P

But seriously, of course. You’ll probably have a better time than you would with IE.

Firefox Quantum (the only firefox still going) and JAWS 2018 still have issues working together. There is supposedly a fix for this coming to JAWS 2018 yet but no idea when that’ll emerge. It still works but you will have to restart the browser with task manager several times a day, probably. Although I’m not certain that this bug is affecting everyone….

Chrome works well and I’ve been using it a little more lately. I still prefer Firefox and Chrome does weird things on occasion, but it’s nothing major. Why not try it?

Hi Everyone,

I would like to thank all of you who replied to the problem I am having with JAWS not reading the subject line on my Outlook e-mail list.  I tried all of your suggestions of Shutting down and restarting, maximizing the screen, and etc. with no success.  Well, this morning, I called JAWS and they tried to help by installing JAWS 15 up from JAWS 13.  The installation went well, but JAWS was still reading my e-mail list in Outlook without mentioning the subject.  Now, instead of reading the e-mail on the list once, it is reading it twice.  The tech at JAWS did not know what else to do.  I am sure having a terrible time in opening up every e-mail to see what the subject is about.  Now I noticed that I am finding enormous difficulties trying to find some of my old e-mails by subject since JAWS is not reading them.  I sure am sinking fast.

Thank you to all who have tried to help.

Al,

I'm also using Outlook 2010 on a Windows 7 computer but with Fusion/JAWS 2018. From time to time I'll get similar behavior from Outlook where it says the sender's name and some number without speaking the subject as I'm arrowing through my messages in my inbox. When this happens, I shut Outlook down, restart it, and the problem usually goes away. But it does recur from time to time and I've decided it has nothing to do with any setting and is just a program burp that normally corrects when I restart Outlook.

I know this is not a definitive answer but hopefully the fact that I'm experiencing a similar issue that corrects itself with a restart will be of some help.

Also, and I do not know if this is a related problem is that when I am writing an e-mail and I do not want to send it that very minute, I was able to send it to my Draft box.  Now as of today I do not know where my un-mailed e-mail is going.  I am wondering if these two problems are related.

Hi Kimsan,

I did a little play with this alt plus a number,

Alt plus 6 = Bcc field.

Alt plus5  = subject field.

Alt plus 4  = CC field.

Alt plus 3  = the too field.

This is like using the shift tab to move you through all the fields.

It stands at the ready with our coastlines in sight and the entire world within reach of its outstretched wings. The globe represents our worldwide presence. The anchor points both to the Marine Corps' naval heritage and its ability to access any coastline in the world. Together, the eagle, globe and anchor symbolize our commitment to defend our nation—in the air, on land and at sea.

Hi. I’m guessing, that if you are planning to purchase it, you will have to buy outlook 2016, or 2019, as I doubt versions of outlook earlier than 2016 are available for sale. I say doubt because I don’t know for sure. As far as what will work, I know there have been some issues with versions older than 2010 with certain email accounts. I installed outlook 2007 on a windows 10 pc just this morning, and set up both a pop3 account through a local provider, and a gmail using IMap, and both are working fine.

Al,

Are you sure the subject line is being displayed for JAWS to read?  I am new to JAWS, so I do not know what features may be different in your version of JAWS.  I was able to rout the Touch Cursor to my inbox to read this, but I couldn’t get the JAWS cursor there, so that may not work for you.  You might also try seeing if Insert Tab will read the full line.  If you do not have sighted assistance to check if the subject is showing, you might go to the View Ribbon and tab to Columns to open the dialog where you can adjust which columns are displayed and in which order.

I have:  JAWS 13, Windows 7 and Outlook 2010

Hi Everyone,

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

This morning when I opened up my computer to read my unread e-mails, JAWS was reading a bit strange.  When I was down arrowing my list of e-mails, JAWS was saying Unread, the sender’s name, 210/, the date, the time and the size of the e-mail.  Today for some reason, it refused to mention the subject line as in the past.  The only difference was that after the senders name, it announced 210/.  I can’t remember if it announced 210/ in the past.  I don’t know what I may have pressed to cause this problem.  It sure is annoying that I need to open up every e-mail to find out what the subject of the e-mail is about.

Also, and I do not know if this is a related problem is that when I am writing an e-mail and I do not want to send it that very minute, I was able to send it to my Draft box.  Now as of today I do not know where my un-mailed e-mail is going.  I am wondering if these two problems are related.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Please bear in mind that I’m not very computer literate, and I need instruction in steps.

Thanks,

Al

I will do practically anything not to have to install an Adobe app on my computer.

when i used the windows 10 annaversery version.
see if the accessible adobe version is availible for windows 10. this might
work.
wait for other posters responses before you try it.

I tried a few bank statements using edge, but I could never get past the menus
to the actual text. The same files would not read well if I loaded them into
word. Anyone know of a resource that explains how do you use edge to read PDFs
with jaws?
