Hey Judy,
If you use the remote for the box, you don't need a TV at all.
The remote changes the box, and the TV is just a dumb receiver.

Re: Is it worth learning the adaptations for a laptop or instead buy an external keyboard with a numpad?
This is very interesting.
So, if you had the cable box, for instance, and a speaker hooked into the box, how would you change the channels? I thought the remote had to interact with the TV, and

I would just put your power plan so that the PC does nothing when you close the lid, then you don’t have to worry about a monitor adjustment and could use an external PC.

Re: Moving Email In WLM
How do I select the email that I want to move?
If I am sitting on the email and hit the context key, there is no move function.
If I hit V, also does nothing.

The screen doesn't even need to work to have Jaws work.
On desktops, you can unplug the video cable to the monitor and Jaws will still work.
It's like a TV, people think that they need a TV to watch

Re: Reading and Acting on Notifications in Windows 10
Hold The windows logo key, and tap the letter a, and this should open your notifications for you. I remember it by opening my alert, versus notifications, if that makes it an easier.

Reading and Acting on Notifications in Windows 10
Hi, Folks. How do I check and see if I have any notifications in Windows 10? I'm using a desktop PC running Windows 10 and the most current version of JAWS. Thanks in advance.--Matthew Chao

Re: Is it worth learning the adaptations for a laptop or instead buy an external keyboard with a numpad?
I have an external keyboard. When I need to save space, I just put the keyboard onto the laptop.
I've got three cheap keyboards.
Two at home, and one to carry with me.
Thanks,
Justin

Yep, my husband just got a Thinkpad, same thing, no num pad, no problem, Use caps-lock with numbers 7 or 8 to simulate left or right mouse buttons. Caps-lock p for Jaws cursor, and caps-lock left

That is always nice, but sometimes we don't want a laptop that big.
Plus that makes for a more expensive laptop.
I've gotten to where I can use a 10 inch laptop if I have some dots on a few specific
