Hi Marie,
Try alt + the home key and see if that works for
you.
That is the hotkey in question.
Thanks.

What alt + home does for me is to put me in the address field. So I can start typing a few characters of my home page and press enter. But I can do that with alt + D too. Don’t know what to tell you then. Control+L and alt+D will take me to the address bar where I can type whatever in, but alt+home has always taken me to whatever I have set as my home page at the time. Be it in Firefox, Chrome or IE if I remember correctly. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

10? Hello, There are some folks on another mailing list saying that they’ve been experiencing serious troubles with jaws 2019.1904 and windows 10. They say the problems started after the last couple of windows updates, particularly the update released on may 3. Among the problems, they remark jaws not reading clipboard history, jaws not reading properly windows 10 settings, and sluggishness of the screen reader, specially when typing.
As far as I recall, I don’t remember no one here reporting those problems, but I could be wrong. However, I use jaws 2019.1904, and I installed those same windows updates but everything went smooth sailing for me after that.
Does anyone here know something about it?

Marie <magpie.mn@...>
These volume issues seem to only be on certain systems so I don't believe it has anything to do with Jaws. I had one laptop that had the volume go way down on one of the early updates but the same system has never had the issue since and even then, all I had to do was go to the volume mixer and increase the volume to normal. That was the one and only problem I have had with volume on updates to three systems and multiple updates.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
The problems almost always are with the Real Tech cards but all three of my systems have that sound device. I also think the majority have been with HP devices and the solution has often been the installation of a new driver. People using NVDA have had the problems as well.
