Re: File counting with JAWS
I don’t know why jAWS doesn’t always give a correct count of items in a list view, but, still, hitting alt-enter on a folder does seem like a better compromise than loading and then unloading

It doesn’t matter what your view is, JAWS should always show the correct count.

I agree using the view is quicker. There is a way to keep the list view set to ‘list’ by setting the view to list—(using the steps David gave’ on the C drive), then go into the control panel,

Re: File counting with JAWS
interesting;
I just went into my user account,/documents,
I set the view to details,
went out of the folder, back in, and the right file count was reported.
not sure how long it will last,

I don't know what your original answer, was, but if you press alt + enter on the folder before you open it, you will get the properties of the folder, which should tell you the total size and number

Hi Michael,
I have to restart, and it is good until the next time it happens, it might take a few weeks until the next instance.
I never heard of reliability history, I'll look for that.

Re: File counting with JAWS
yes I hear you, I think it's a lot easier to alt+v=view, letter l then spacebar, if you have a need to to get the file count.
so, alt+v/l then the spacebar, easier then turning off jaws and turning

Hi, the only way I've found to get an accurate file count is,
1, navigate to documents press enter,
you will hear not selected and then an untrue number,
2, press, alt+v=view,
3, l=list,
now

Re: converting MP3
It does at the end when you close the program. Just ignore it and hit alt-f4 again!
It does a great job, lets you easily choose the format you want to save the audio portion in, and you can
