You may get mixed opinions on this, since Jaws seems to perform differently
from system to system,
so the best thing to do, is compare the two for yourself on your system.

I use outlook to retrieve my e-mail from g-mail but I rarely go into g-mail
itself because it is difficult to navigate for the blind.; at least I have
found it difficult to use.

Yes, control M would be the way to check mail. But he mentioned about it being in Table View. How does he navigate around the Table View? How does one get into table View?. I

Sounds like windows 10 and although I don't use that, I think that windows M
creates a new desktop, or removes the desktop or something like that.
But shouldn't your friend be using control + M for

Same. This was not issue with previous jaws. It happens all the time. Can not understand why this is not fix. NVDA does not have this problem. A app that is public does better with this than one that

I get this quite often, and I do windows M to focus on the desktop and alt +
tab to get back to the desired window.

that if I have two programs running, say for instance MS Outlook and MSWord,

If you want to be more protected, you might consider some malware software.
Malware Bytes is good, but slightly challenging with Jaws, but doable.
You can also use Microsoft's

I have had this problem, I don't think it is the same as Tom's.
My Jaws speech will slow down and sound like a Silon (battle star galactica), and then I lose all audio, again, with a realtech
