I don’t remember who sent this in, so I can’t give credit for the original suggestion.  When Chrome asks if you want it to update your password for a website, press f6 and you’ll be on the update button.  Press enter.  I think I may then have had to press escape to activate the PC cursor.

I believe there’s also an iOS app and while being able to access materials via the iPhone or iPad would be nice, I’m thinking more along PC useage. Still though, how about iOS accessibility?
Any input would be appreciated.

Unfortunately for me, I followed the instructions that were described below, and all of the boxes that were supposed to be unchecked were not checked to begin with. This is a problem I noted previously in Word 13, where I would create a document, save it to my documents as unprotected, but as soon as I transfer (cut and paste), it would become protected/read only. Really weird.

Hi Michele,

You didn't state which operating system, but this is for Windows 7:
From: Roger Loran Bailey

Because of this thread I just did something that I did not know how to do and didn't even know that I wanted to do until now. I changed
my own default search engine in Internet Explorer to Google. My default search engine has been Bing ever since I got this Windows 7 computer, but I prefer
Google. I handled the problem by just ignoring Bing and making Google my home page. Because of this discussion I decided to check to see if I could change
the default search. I went to tools and then to manage add ons. I then arrowed down until I saw search engines. I tabbed and found Bing checked as default.
By arrowing up and down I saw that there were other search engines and Google was not one of them. So I continued to tab until I found a link labeled "search
for other search engines." I clicked that link and came to a Microsoft page about add ons and at first I didn't think it had anything to do with search
engines, but down the page there was a link to search engines which I clicked. I then got a list of search results and again Google was not one of them.
Apparently Microsoft wants to make it hard for you to use Google. In exasperation I pressed the E key to go to the only edit field on the page and typed
in Google. Again I got a list of search results, but this time the first one on the list was Google search. There was a link right after it for adding
it to Internet Explorer. I clicked it again and there was a page listing some things about Google. By this time I was getting tired of the hoops I was
jumping through, so I didn't read that material very closely and now I can't really tell you what it said, but at the very bottom there was another link
offering to add Google to Internet Explorer. I clicked it again and a dialog came up. Tabbing through it there were several check boxes to either check
or not to check and one of them was to make Google my default search engine. I did check that and went through the rest of the dialog and click finish
or save or whatever it said at the end. I then just closed the browser and opened it up again. I don't know if that was necessary, but that is how I did
it. Then I check by pressing f6 for the address bar and, indeed, it showed Google. I typed in a word off the top of my head and pressed enter and I got
a list of Google search results. So there is how to make Google your default search engine in Internet Explorer. I would have done this a long time ago
if I had thought of it or even known where to look.

Mike,
Thanks for this and I will try later. I am not sure what operating system she is using, but it is windows 10, my understanding from other list is early versions of windows 10 allowed one to change their default search engine but I believe beginning where is 1709 one could not change that and was forced to stick with the default. I will play with the same bit later and report back.

for other search engines." I clicked that link and came to a Microsoft page about add ons and at first I didn't think it had anything to do with search
engines, but down the page there was a link to search engines which I clicked.

I'm using Internet Explorer. Sorry: I should have included that but I thought the commands would be the same for any browser.

Cheers!

Re: ripping an audio cd

Sharon S

Hi, you can also set Windows media player up so it will automatically rip a disc when it is open. Since I mainly use windows Media Player to rip CD’s to transfer over to one of my portable players I have it set up to always rip. Also you can have it set to eject the disc after ripping is complete. I do this so I can go and do other things and the disc pops out when it is done so I know to go back to that job.

Sandy

Here are instructions for using windows media player to rip a cd

1, place cd into drive

Music should start to play, if windows media is your default player.

if not open media player

the first selection should be music, arrow down until you hear the name of the cd

at the name of the cd press tab twice

all of the tracks of the cd are listed and view each one by arrowing up and down

check each one that you want to rip

by default all tracks are checked

5, press ctrl+3, and tab until the rip button is reached

enter on the rip button.

Rick:
It is a movie that my wife wanted to copy to her laptop; but her disk drive is not currently working correctly. We purchased an external cd disk drive, but it is not correctly working either. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Jerry,
Letting us know what type of content is on the DVD will be helpful.

Morning all.

Using JAWS 2018 and windows 10 on a Dell laptop, can anyone give me
instructions for copying a DVD to a flash drive? I am uncertain for using
media player. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
