Hello

This started happening with the release of Jaws2019 when they said they were having Jaws handle the different MS Office versions separately instead of globally.
When I called Vispero supportabout the coordinates setting not working any longer in 2010, they told me that they no longer support any MS Office below 2013.

Keep Smiling!

Hey Gang.

I’m running jaws 2019, MS 2010, on a 64 bit laptop.

In my excel sheet I don’t want to hear any of the Coordinates. When I had jaws 2018, it worked, and hear is what I did for jaws 2019, but I still hear A1.

What can I do to shut them off?

Thanks Patti

The ninit installers are great for installing and updating many software programs. They will go out and find the latest version of the program which will work on your system and they never, ever include any of the little spyware programs. They are safe, easy and free. Try Googling for the Ninit official web site and check it out.

Hi.

I just went to mozilla.org and found “firefox installer”, but it is only 314 k here, so not the one you’re talking about, obviously.

Either way though, one of those will install Firefox 65.

Try and get the 64-bit version if you have a 64-bit computer as it will probably run a bit faster.

On two different pages of the FF web site, I ended up with two different installers. One is

Firefox Setup 65.0.2.exe

Which was on a confusing page where JFW was not rendering a table correctly and you have to choose both language and OS from a table layout.

The other is Firefox Installer.exe.

Which is hugely bigger so must be a complete version.

I intended to install the Rapid Release version over the ESR version- and am wondering how to proceed. Thanks for any advice.

Yeah, I remember getting FF basically the way you described in another instance, too, but following the links on the main mozilla site got me to the installer, which probably does download from the internet based on your oS and such.

I don't know if I mentioned in my last post on this, how I keep uninstalling FF and even I've cleaned the registry and restarted, and I still get a non-functional version of FF with Windows 7 64bit, with Jaws 2018, latest update, and the last time I tried it, I used Mineite and that did not help either.

Hi Mike. Thanks for this helpful tip. I have been working on the

Hi guys has anyone had their sound on windows 10 go weird.

I got 2 computers and both can play up maybe 3 or 4 times in 20 minutes.

And my other 2 machines never do it.

Or it will run for hours with no problems.

At any time jaws will go silly lots of echo and not responsive.

I have to reboot the computer and all is good till the next time.

I thought it was a jaws problem.

But i tried it out playing music and it still did it.

So when i look in the reliability history i find a few errors that was sent to microsoft saying that windows host process has stopped working or not responding.

Has any one  had this issue.

I been getting it happen in the last 2 windows 10 versions.

Re: Fusion

Tony

I have a similar Windows 7 setup withoutZoom. I usually have as many as 20
windows open at once. When the machine gets bogged down I check TaskManager
and usually a browser has started grabbing memory. The other day FireFox
was up over 4Mb in size. Shutting the offending program down and
restarting usually helps for a while.

I also find that, after a few days of heavy usage, I can shut down all
programs and the available memory is down noticeably. I havenpt been able
to determine which program caused it to be lost to the system. I reboot the
machine 2 or 3 times a week and it keeps on going.

Hi Pam,

Memory might well be the issue. I try to minimize the number of programs I
have running but typically can't avoid having Outlook 2010, Fusion, and
Firefox running. But even with just these, I'll get to a point in Outlook
where trying to move to a new email to read it just stops working and Fusion
is the usual culprit and I have to reboot. I've also found that I can seldom
open a docx file in Word 2010 without it returning an error message with an
option to restart the program and it usually works after the restart. It
gets old but I've learned to work with the inconveniences.

I am also on Windows 7, 64-bit with 8 GB of RAM. Usually things will run
fine after I reboot, but after a while, my magnification level will either
go down from level 16 to level 2, or ZoomText will just stop. If it stops,
I have to reboot. Usually I can't restart JAWS at this point either.

I wonder if increasing memory to 12 GB might help, if that's an option.

For my job, I have to use a product called Service Now, which I don't think
always plays nicely with Fusion. I usually have several windows open at a

least part of the issue for Fusion, but just guessing.

Hi Folger, I’m still lost. I went with the Start Key and kept pressing the M until the Microsoft store was mentioned, but after pressing Enter there, it seemed to be a never-ending list in absolutely no order that I could see and no edit field to use for a search.

How then is this app found?

On a second note, how does the computer then hear you?  Is it through your add on microphone and sound card?

Thanks very much!

Sincerely, Vicky

FYI. Today my lady A worked well. Before I could not complete instalation. However with current jaws lady A worked well. I went to the app in my desktop, enter on the app, she install ASAP and now she is working. I was able to ask weather, play news and music. Nice she works well.

Re: Showing Number of Files and Folders in Windows 10

Rick Justice <ricjustice@...>

The view menu has nothing to do with the properties dialogue,
I simply mentioned it for reference in locating a folder with up and down
arrows.
So, forget the view menu, and read my directions carefully.
1. Arrow to the folder that you want to check the properties of, and use the
say line command to verify you are on the correct one.
2. Press Alt Enter, to open the properties dialogue.
3. Route Jaws to PC.
4. Up arrow one line at a time to find the information you are looking for.
5. When you are done, press the PC cursor key, to turn off the Jaws cursor,
and then press Escape to close the properties dialogue.

Rick:
With the exception of having the view menu on, I did everything you
suggested, and it brought up the shortcut tab. How do I get to the view
menu? In the tabs under the properties, there is no view tab. Thanks.

On my system running Windows 10 Home, with the latest build of Jaws 2019,
and the view menu set to list,
While focused on any folder, press Alt Enter, to open the properties
dialogue.
Next, simply route Jaws to PC, then use the up arrow to find the number of
files and sub-folders and the total size of the folder.
When you are done, press the Escape key to close the properties dialogue.

Drag and Drop Issue Resolved In Latest J2019

Mike B <mb69mach1@...>

Hi All,

It was reported that Drag and Drop was broken in the latest J2019.1903.9 release but, it has been resolved.  When using Drag and Drop you must use the left control key only.  So the keystroke is, Insert, Left Control Key + Numpad Slash.  No right control key.
Take care.  Mike.  Sennt from my iBarstool.
