Sounds like you might have left something out, did
it ask you for your Amazon account information?
I am sure you would not be able to use it unless
you have an Amazon account.

Sometimes reloading /restarting programmes, or even a full system reboot, does fix a lot of problems. This is definitely true of complex programmes with a lot of modules that have to interact with various parts of the system, like screen-readers.
It wasn’t enough detail initially because you never said what the result of trying to read the page was. Does insert-down say nothing? Does it read part of the document and stop? Is there, in fact, an error message – if so, what does it say? Could you still read the page via other methods, iE, simply arrowing through with the virtutal buffer instead of using the say-all command? That’s the kind of relevant info that helps diagnose problems.

Thanks to all who replied. I thought stating that pressing the insert key plus the down arrow did not cause JAWS to read the page was enough detail. But I've figured that my system must have been experiencing an issue perhaps to do with too many running programs because the page is reading just fine today following last night's system shutdown. The system seemed responsive when I posted my question or I wouldn't have bothered with posting it. I'm not a big fan of having to do a system reboot but I don't hesitate when it's obviously needed. It just wasn't obvious that time.

It is working fine with Firefox 65.0.a. Looks like a very simple and straightforward html file to me. You should probably elucidate a little more about how it isn’t working for you, rather than simply saying that something isn’t working. When you do the latter, all people can really do is respond by saying “wworking fine here”. We don’t really know what problem you are experiencing.

Hi List,
I'm running Fusion 2019 on a Windows 7 computer using Firefox version 60.5.1 ESR. I'm trying to learn about the Backpack iOS app for recording podcasts and was attempting to read its tutorial page at the following link:
http://backpackstudioapp.com/tutorial.html
For some reason, pressing Insert + down arrow doesn't cause JAWS to read the above page in Firefox. It reads it just fine with IE 11 so I'm curious why it doesn't read in Firefox and am wondering what results others using other browsers get with the website.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Printing Airline Boarding Passes
Matthew Chao
Hi, Rebecca. Travel and airline sites ARE THE WORST when it comes to accessibility. I often go through reservations by phone, and if they try to charge me extra, I complain or request to speak to a supervisor. As for boarding passes, I give up. I just take my ticket printout to the airlines counter and try and get the seat i want.--Matthew Chao

Re: Asking a PDF question.
Justin Williams
I didn’t know A acquired the image. I’ve always used insert spacebar then o then d. Do you have to have a scanner like openbook for A to work? Another tactic I use is the freedom import printer on open book. If acquiring the image does not work, use openbook’s freedom import printer with control p.

Are you saying to do the following: Attempt to hold down the following three keys altogether? Insert + the letter O + the letter A all at once? That can not be done. SMILES. I just attempt that fact. Or are you saying to insert o, release then the letter a? Because if you do the basic jaws key and space bar release then the letter O, you get the OCR feature. Could you explain further the correct keystroke for me to try? Many Thanks. Ron Ham Radio Station KR3DOG-PA-WCECTM Pennsylvania West County Emergency Com-Tree Manager.

Hi Ron and all, Ron, The enhanced OCR features in JAWS may help in this case. Press Insert+o+A. I'm assuming you have a scanner or the Pearl camera. If not, qRead as was suggested does work well and it's what I use in the office. Hope this helps.
