Using W10, current jaws. I installed alexa and the problem I am having is clicking on the agreement in the setting. Has anyone installed successfuly alexa? I am not able to finished instaling it.

1. In a list of messages, hit the home key to be at the top.

2. Route JAWS to PC

I just discovered JAWS cursor is saying blank on mine, so I tried to do
it with touch cursor to see if I could say how to do it that way, and I
got everything all messed up now and am having trouble getting it back
right again, lol.

Sometimes reloading /restarting programmes, or even a full system reboot, does fix a lot of problems. This is definitely true of complex programmes with a lot of modules that have to interact with various parts of the system, like screen-readers.

 

It wasn’t enough detail initially because you never said what the result of trying to read the  page was. Does insert-down say nothing? Does it read part of the document and stop? Is there, in fact, an error message – if so, what does it say? Could you still read the page via other methods, iE, simply arrowing through with the virtutal buffer instead of using the say-all command? That’s the kind of relevant info that helps diagnose problems.

Thanks to all who replied. I thought stating that pressing the insert key plus the down arrow did not cause JAWS to read the page was enough detail. But I've figured that my system must have been experiencing an issue perhaps to do with too many running programs because the page is reading just fine today following last night's system shutdown. The system seemed responsive when I posted my question or I wouldn't have bothered with posting it. I'm not a big fan of having to do a system reboot but I don't hesitate when it's obviously needed. It just wasn't obvious that time.

I'm running Fusion 2019 on a Windows 7 computer using Firefox version 60.5.1 ESR. I'm trying to learn about the Backpack iOS app for recording podcasts and was attempting to read its tutorial page at the following link:

For some reason, pressing Insert + down arrow doesn't cause JAWS to read the above page in Firefox. It reads it just fine with IE 11 so I'm curious why it doesn't read in Firefox and am wondering what results others using other browsers get with the website.

This is going to be a bit of a rant, so delete now as you choose.
A friend who was visiting needed a boarding pass printed. She gave me the name of her airline (Southwest) and all her information.� I got to the page with her boarding pass displayed without any problem.� There was a print button, which JAWS clearly identified as such.� Piece of cake, I thought.
I pressed enter on the button.
Nothing.
I pressed numpad slash.
Nothing.
I switched to the JAWS cursor and repeated the above two steps.
Again, nothing, and nothing.
I switched to the touch cursor.
JAWS said, �print button has focus.�
I pressed enter.� Nothing.
I even checked to see if there were any print windows lurking in the background that needed a press of a continue button, as can sometimes happen.� Not.
At that point, I told her that she would have to pick up that infernal rodent and click the pest of a button.
The printer started right up, naturally.
Unfortunately I did not say, let�s see if it works in IE or Edge, or with Narrator or Window-Eyes, before I handed over control of the physical mouse.
So I don�t know where the problem lies--with the browser, screen reader or with the design of the web site.
My frustration is that we can often come so close, and then hit that proverbial wall.
Is there something that I could have, should have, done?� If this is an access issue, how many people on the list have encountered it.

He does mean Insert spacebar then O to launch the JAWS OCr function, then A to Acquire an image.
