Hi.

Use the JAWS cursor to drag and drop them.

1. In a list of messages, hit the home key to be at the top.

2. Route JAWS to PC

3. Up arrow to the message list headers

4. Ahead by word to the column you want to move

5. JAWS Key+shift+num row 8 to start the drag and drop opperation

6. ahead more or back more by word to the header that you want the item
now to come before

7. JAWS Key+shift+8 to complete the drag opperation.

It usually takes a couple of tries to get it right, especially if you're
having issues with the column you drop ending up before a column when
you want it to be after it, etc. You sometimes need to resort to
dragging everything else to get the same end result.

I just discovered JAWS cursor is saying blank on mine, so I tried to do
it with touch cursor to see if I could say how to do it that way, and I
got everything all messed up now and am having trouble getting it back
right again, lol.

Insert plus down arrow did nothing. Jaws gave no reply whatsoever.

It wasn’t enough detail initially because you never said what the result of trying to read the  page was. Does insert-down say nothing? Does it read part of the document and stop? Is there, in fact, an error message – if so, what does it say? Could you still read the page via other methods, iE, simply arrowing through with the virtutal buffer instead of using the say-all command? That’s the kind of relevant info that helps diagnose problems.

Thanks to all who replied. I thought stating that pressing the insert key plus the down arrow did not cause JAWS to read the page was enough detail. But I've figured that my system must have been experiencing an issue perhaps to do with too many running programs because the page is reading just fine today following last night's system shutdown. The system seemed responsive when I posted my question or I wouldn't have bothered with posting it. I'm not a big fan of having to do a system reboot but I don't hesitate when it's obviously needed. It just wasn't obvious that time.

Hi, Rebecca. Travel and airline sites ARE THE WORST when it comes to accessibility. I often go through reservations by phone, and if they try to charge me extra, I complain or request to speak to a supervisor. As for boarding passes, I give up. I just take my ticket printout to the airlines counter and try and get the seat i want.--Matthew Chao

I didn’t know A acquired the image.  I’ve always used insert spacebar then o then d.

Do you have to have a scanner like openbook for A to work?

Another tactic I use is the freedom import printer on open book. If acquiring the image does not work, use openbook’s freedom import printer with control p.

Are you saying to do the following:

Attempt to hold down the following three keys altogether?

Insert + the letter O + the letter A all at once?

That can not be done. SMILES.

I just attempt that fact.

Or are you saying to insert o, release then the letter a?

Because if you do the basic jaws key and space bar release then the letter O, you get the OCR feature.

Could you explain further the correct keystroke for me to try?

Many Thanks.

Hi Ron and all,

Ron, The enhanced OCR features  in JAWS may help in this case.

Press Insert+o+A.

I'm assuming you have a scanner or the Pearl camera.

If not, qRead as was suggested does work well and it's what I use in the office.

Hope this helps.

Abbyy FineReader works for me. QRead may work, too, but I haven't tried it. Unfortunately, these are not free solutions.Having said that, my bank statements are not scanned images but are in readable PDF text.

Hello to all.I just received a PDF
copy of all of my statements from my bank.
I'm using JFW 2019.
I do the jaws key spacebar to open the pdf file since I keep getting the
message empty document.
Is there a easier way or a different program to open the pdf file so I may
access and clean up my bank statement?
Or is there a simple PDF to TXT converter program I could
1. work with
2. convert the stupid pdf file to a text file and move February's entries to
the February text file and so on throughout all of the months of the year
for both 2019 and 2018 when this new account was created?
Many Thanks.
Ron who hates PDF files.
