You can also use with the virtual cursor turned off Jay to go back K to
pause the video which was already stated here and the letter l to move
forward For some reason this method does not work for all videos. So you
might have to use the tab method discussed here. I did not know about
that method but I am looking forward to trying it.

Hi there. In Chrome, once you have a video playing, you can turn off

will fast forward you through a video. When you are on this control,
you can use your left and right arrow keys to move back and forth.
There is also a volume slider, and you can control it the same way.
The letter K also pauses and restarts the video you are currently
watching. I hope this helps.

You would need an external phone modem which connect USB. I know for a fact as there is such an animal sitting on my desk. Now there might be some web pages that for a price could do this for you as well, as to that I can not say.

This is a known bug introduced with Jaws 2019 ever since the betas. I
unfortunately have been dealing with it even after the most recent January
2019 update which was supposed to finally address it.
The Vispero rep with whom I've been corresponding has acknowledged that
they're aware of the bug and that some folks are still encountering it even
after the January update.
In my case, I'm running a stand-alone Office subscription (Outlook Version
16.0.11231.20130).
Vispero even provided me with a config file as well as instructions on how
to create one that indeed actually fixed this email address announcement
bug, but at the cost of the subject fields in the Outlook calendar no longer
being spoken. This most recent attempt also disabled my various Outlook
dictionary manager entries too.
For me at least, these two issues presented by this config fix were too
disruptive and I ended up removing that Vispero provided config file.
For whatever reason, my autocorrect list that I had built up also seems to
have been erased and while I can't be sure if it had anything to do with
this Jaws provided fix since I can't with certainty say that the insertion
of the config file or its removal caused all my autocorrect entries to bite
the dust even though that's the only real change I've made to Outlook. So,
just something to keep in mind should you reach out to Vispero and they
provide you with the same file/fix. Back up your autocorrect list.
That said, it would be a good idea to let them know so that they're aware
that other folks are still dealing with this rather significant bug.

Have you considered using an online fax service?  I use concord fax and it works great.

Now that Jaws has the option to read PDF files when you open the attachment, it works even better.

It runs about $10.00 a month for 50 pages.  You can send a fax directly from your email and receive faxes the same way.

They provide a fax number for you and you  can receive and send faxes anywhere you go.

Hi.

Of course it is possible, but
-- you'd have to know your
password to begin with in
order to type it in.
If you don't know your
password, what you can do
about it would depend on your
e-mail provider.
If you use your ISP's e-mail
service, they probably will be
able to give it to you if you
supply them with all your
correct information (they
usually ask for your full
name, address, phone number,
or any other information you
might have associated with the
account).
If you use gmail, I don't
really know what recovery
options they have, but if you
use an Android phone they
probably associate it with
your Google account and will
send you a code to verify on
your phone.

I don't really know what you
are asking though; the part
about a blind person typing in
the password confused me.

dictionary manager entries too.

I am using Outlook 365 with Jaws 18; if I start to type the first few
letters of a known contact, tab away and then back-tab, I then find the
e-mail address.

For me, if I press the read line command, insert plus up-arrow, the
suggestions are there. They just are not read automatically.

Alison, on your last point, you may find that the accelerator keys work if you don't include the alt key. That's how they function in my Word 2016, although the alt key is still necessary for Outlook 2016's spell-checker.

None of these Jaws commands has ever worked for me. Jaws key z tells me that the option to check spelling is not available, although it will allow me to find comments and edit fields etc.

Shift alt l does absolutely nothing at all.

I therefore just use f7 and the standard M S Word spell-checker. However, although I can cope with this, which incidentally also checks for grammar, the accelerator keys do not work.

JAWS has some special keys for accessing misspelled words.

1. Pressing alt+shift+l will list misspelled words. To correct a word, press enter on it and use the context menu (applications key?
right click) to list available options.

2. Press insert+z to turn on quick keys, then press 'm' to move to the first misspelled word. To correct the word, press insert+z to turn off quick keys, then use the applications (context) menu to see the list of options.
To check for the next word, insert+z again, then 'm'. Remember that
insert+z prevents your typing into the document.

Just a little piece of info as far as hearing star star star when either knowing when or typing in a password. I often hear, especially with my e-mail client, circle bullet, circle bullet, circle bullet instead of the star.

Fred,
You will know if it is the password field if you hear star star star when
you type.
You can copy and paste your password into the field, but you have to be
careful to not copy any spaces that come after it.
Sighted folks do this unknowingly too.
So if you hold down the shift key and copy the password, go past it until
you hear the space, and don't let go of the space bar, and left arrow once
to unhighlight the space.
Then you can copy.
HTH.

Re: Faxing With J2019

Not necessarily.  There are some sites like efax.com and many others that allow you to send faxes electronically by highlighting a document.  YOu can have it create cover sheets also.

Hi All,

An acquaintence is running a Windows 10 laptop with J2019 latest and would like to know what he needs to do to be able to send a fax from his laptop.  I believe a phone modem needs to be installed but, I'm not sure since I've never ran into this issue.  If any of y'all has experience with faxing from your laptop would you please tell me the steps on how to do this?  I don't know if there are external phone modems, if they are programs, or it it is hardware that needs to be installed.  All help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank y'all very much.
Take care.  Sent from my iBarstool.
