Re: block quote.
Rebecca Lineberger
Could this be what you want? I searched for Verbosity In the JAWS settings center, and found Configure web verbosity. There are three levels, high, medium and low. For low, it says: Choose Low to open the Low Virtual Cursor Verbosity Preferences dialog box. Use it to adjust settings for the Low Virtual Cursor verbosity level. Low verbosity will cause JAWS to speak as little structural information as possible about the elements on a page or inside a document. By default, only the start and end of tables and grids is announced at this level. Press SPACEBAR to open the dialog box. HTH. Rebecca

Mike B. <mike9902@...>
Hi Again Jim,
Okay, that Blocked Quote setting option changed
in JAWS2018, and thank you Rebecca for giving me a kick in the right
direction!
Try the following:
1. Open the Settings Center in either of these 2 ways. Use this option for individual applications / programs. A. Press, Insert / Jaws Key + 6, on the number row above the main keyboard. B. Press, Insert / Jaws Key + F2, to open the, Jaws Manager, arrow down to, Settings Center, & press enter. With the Settings Center open press, control, shift , + D, to open the Settings Center Default All Applications. Use this option for making changes for all applications / programs. 3. Arrow down to, Web / HTML / PDFs closed, and right arrow to open.
4. Arrow down to, Reading, and right arrow to open.
4. Arrow down 1 time to, Web Verbosity Level, and the default setting
is medium, so arrow down 1 more time to, Configure Web Verbosity Level closed,
and right arrow to open.
5. Arrow down to, Medium...., and press the spacebar to open. Do not
press enter here, because if you press enter it will close the Settings
Center.
6. Tab 1 time into a list of options and, Blocked Quotation, is the first
checkbox, so press the spacebar to uncheck this option.
7. Tab to, Okay, press the spacebar, again tab to, Okay, and press enter to
save your change and close the Settings Center.
Let us know if this got you fixed up. HTH Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sennt from my iBarstool. Arguing with a woman is like reading a software license agreement. In the end you have to ignore everything, & click I agree.

Can JAWS 2018 read images in emails?
Hi List,
I'm steadily climbing the ZoomText Fusion 2018 learning curve especially where JAWS is concerned. I'm loving its extremely powerful reading abilities especially when compared to the reading built into ZoomText Magnifier/Reader 10.1 which I've used the past few years. I know JAWS 2018 has some OCR capabilities built into it for scanned images and will read their text on the fly I believe. What I'm wondering is can it also do OCR conversion on the fly for images with text that are included in the body of an email? I do my email on my Windows 7 computer using Outlook 2010 and I'm noticing more and more emails from companies I do business with comprised almost entirely of images. It would be very handy if JAWS could read the text from those but I don't have a clue where to begin to do that.
If anyone can offer the hotkey keystrokes to do this, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

David Ferrin
Here is a start for folks who are not receiving list traffic to
un-bounce themselves. Note: you will most likely need a Groups IO account which
is free of course. Also I will include this on the help page shortly as
well.
1. Log-in at:
2. Navigate to, Link collapsed has pop-up, your display name, and press
enter.
3. Find, link Accounts, and press enter.
4. Find, link Recent Bounces, and press enter.
5. Search for un-bounce your account or something to that effect and follow

Re: OCR software for scanner
Adrian Spratt
For anyone interested, I returned to IRTI’s Eclipse Writer for my OCR software. It is designed for visually impaired people, uses the ABBYY FineReader OCR scanning engine and cost $675. However, since I was upgrading from Version 5.0 to 5.5, I only had to pay $150, the same as FS’s upgrade fee for OpenBook. Note, however, the substantially lower price for the original purchase. I hadn’t expected to be charged the lower fee since I’d bought the original software several years ago for my old system, which is why I thought I might be in the market for an alternative.
Eclipse Writer can be tried out for a 30-day free trial. The link to the Pro version is https://store.irti.net/eclipsewriter-pro-with-scanning-ocr/

First Post to Jaws Users - Looking for Bible Search or Study program

Hello - This is my first post to the Jaws Users Group
Does anyone know any Bible Search or Study programs that work with JAWS?
Our pastor became blind in the last two years. He finally has a computer provided to him which comes with JAWS
My limited understanding make me think that JAWS tries to “read” what is on the screen.
Apparently the Bible Programs that our pastor is familiar with, do not produce a window which is readable by JAWS
I saw this forum and I am hoping someone will have some suggestions for our pastor
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the list! Great to have you. I use Bible gateway, because it is very accessible, you can type words, books, a verse, and so on, in the search box. You can press H for headings, and read it with your screen reader. Also, in the NIV, for example, has a link where you can listen to someone read it. So, you have both ways to listen to the NIV, with JAWS, or listen to a person read it. There is a combo box where you can choose from many English versions, and many languages. I love Bible Gateway.
