In outlook and Live mail, it either reads or places
you in the fields, and it's actually 1 through 6, 6 being the subject
field.
Pressing the number twice actually places you in
that field.

Latest Jaws update
Larry Volk
I wrote earlier that the latest JAWS2019 update has caused me a lot of problems and trying the JAWS repair didn’t resolve them. But I just tried deleting the default.jcf (default configuration file), rebooted the computer—which brought up the startup manager, reset my settings and now everything is working correctly. I’m not sure why but somehow with that update the default configuration file got corrupted.

The alt+# is working for me in Outlook2010. You can also use the shift+tab to move backwards to these fields.

Good News Regarding Latest Jaws Update
Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.
I just installed the latest Jaws 2019 update, and wanted to report that the Alt 1 through Alt 6 commands now work again in terms of giving me message fields in Outlook 2016.
I also have no problem navigating cells in Excel spreadsheets, contrary to what was earlier reported by at least one list member.
Will report on anything else noteworthy as I use the update more.
Am using Office 365 on this Windows 10 computer.

You have to have an open message in order to see the options. Does not work when simply pointing to the message.

Possible Bug In File Explorer In New Jaws Update
Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.
As you know, I just updated to the latest build of Jaws 2019 on this Windows 10 PC.
Most things seem to be working well, and I’m very glad to have the Alt 1 through 6 commands available for reading Outlook 2016 message fields.
However, I might have discovered a bug in File Explorer with the new Jaws update.
When in a folder list view, I used to be able to create a new folder using the alt control N command. I found this to be quite handy and efficient.
While I can still create a new folder by finding the option in the file explorer menus, it seems like the alt control N command is no longer working.
Can anyone else check for this bug, and let us know if it is being experienced on other Windows 10 computers with the latest Jaws update.
Thanks!

Not sure about control and alt, but the command to create a
new folder is control+shift+N.
Hope this helps.

Strange Event With Open Book
cheez
I hope this is okay for this list.
Running Win 10, with latest version of JAWS and
Open Book 9.
After scanning and reading a page, the field
changes, as if I did an alt+tab. So in order for me to get back to that
scanned page, then I have to alt+tab for sure.
Does anyone have an idea on how to remedy this
strangeness?
Now, I'm wondering if the new Canon LiDE 300
scanner I just installed has anything to do with this problem.
