Hello all,

As subject say does ofice 20019 home business work in windows 8.1? I am a bit confused, because I read in the requirements that it worked on windows 10, but still I might have misunderstood; so I thought I might ask to see if any of you has it on windows 8.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Mike,

When you are in any type of app that will accept text like email, text file or document, open the Emoji panel with either, Windows key + semicolon key, or, Windows key + period key, now arrow around to the emoji you want and press enter.  Now press escape to close the emoji panel and you should be able to read the emoji you just pasted into the file you're working with.  If this doesn't work write back and we'll see what else to try.  These are the steps that work for me.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.  Go dodgers!

It is a windows feature, though JAWS had to be adapted to it and I’m not sure when that happened exactly – I remember a lot of fuss when nVDA was able to use it but almost nothing from jFW. Anyway, it is a part of Windows 10 starting a few builds back.

Hi all!  I was wondering if anyone knows how to reach the scheduling assistant in Outlook using a keystroke now.  It seems that the command that I used to be able to use no longer works.  Alt plus H followed by the letter U is not working like it once did.  Is there another way?  Many thanks!

Not many, that's why it didn't last in the market; never had the penetration of Windows 7 or 10; and since mainstream support already ended over a year ago, and extended supports ends in 2023, you're better off just biting the bullet and going with Windows 10.

I know of no good reason why anybody would opt to upgrade to Windows 8 instead of going straight to 10.

If you are still using accessibility like Jaws or another screen-reader, you can still do it for free.

Windows 8 was a flop, like Vista was, but they came out with 8.1 and shortly after windows 10, and that is why there was a small market penetration.
Vista became pretty good after Microsoft's fixes, but most people went into 7 by then.

Hey there, ron, Brian Zolo here in Gahanna, Ohio, feel free to call me BZ,

bar to uncheck it. Tab again and there's another checkbox about protected
preview and hit the space bar to uncheck that as well. Then just keep
tabbing until you get to the ok button ahd then hit enter. You're all set.
Just close the file and open the file again and you'll be in business.
Actually, you don't need to open a file, just open adobe pdf and hit ctrl
plus k and you'll be in preferences. Appologize for not statint that first.
Let m know if I can be of further assistance. Have a great day! BZ!

Go to edit preferences, then to security enhance, and uncheck the box that
says to open in protected view. Fixed the problem for me.

Hi to my fellow JAWS users.
I'm running win 10 and JAWS 2019.
Just tried to open a pdf file from my local YMCA.
No lock.
Any and all advice will be deeply appreciated.
Many Thanks.

Thanks, I'm not sure why that's happening.
I'll check this message.

I only saw the list email once.

This is causing you to send your posts to the list twice.

Good morning,
This has been occurring for a week now and it's starting to irritate me
I'm using chrome 74, no matter the site I navigate to once I start
reading using the down arrow, after a few lines, jaws just
stops. The only way I can start reading again is to tab and shift
tab which causes me to lose my place.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Thankyou,

Still, it makes no sense to upgrade from windows 7 to 8, or 8.1.

Windows 8 was a flop, like Vista was, but they came out with 8.1 and shortly after windows 10, and that is why there was a small market penetration.

Vista became pretty good after Microsoft's fixes, but most people went into 7 by then.

There are others who would disagree.

I would skip 8, it was not a good version.

I'm going to upgrade to 8 before 10, which may never happen if I'm lucky.

Smile, I didn’t think there were any windows 8 users left.

Hello all,

As subject say does ofice 20019 home business work in windows 8.1? I am a bit confused, because I read in the requirements that it worked on windows 10, but still I might have misunderstood; so I thought I might ask to see if any of you has it on windows 8.

Thank you in advance.
