That is interesting that Function+Right Control does not do anything on your computer.  Yes, Function+Left Arrow is equivalent to the Home key, and Function+Right Arrow is equivalent to the End key.  Also on both of my laptops, Function+F2 lowers the volume, Function+F3 increases the volume, and Function+f1 toggles mute.  There is also a Function+ a numbered Function key to lock the computer, but I do not remember it off of the top of my head.  There are probably others as well.

Hi,

I’m using a Dell laptop Inspiron and I tried the command that was posted just to see what it does?

And did not work here, but it showed me another way to move to the top (Home and end) by using the function key along with the arrow keys.

I found this way more better, then using control+home & end, because both my hands were at the bottom of the laptop.

Thanks

Jorge,

There is no better symbol for the purpose we serve than the emblem every Marine earns: the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. The eagle represents the proud nation we defend. It stands at the ready with our coastlines in sight and the entire world within reach of its outstretched wings. The globe represents our worldwide presence. The anchor points both to the Marine Corps' naval heritage and its ability to access any coastline in the world. Together, the eagle, globe and anchor symbolize our commitment to defend our nation—in the air, on land and at sea.

On both my Dell laptop at work and my personal Dell laptop there is not an Applications key.  By holding down the Function key and tapping the Right Control key will achieve the same result as the Applications key.  Note, that using the Left Control key does not do anything.

The various laptops I have experienced, Lenovo, Asus, Toshiba have all had the application key.  I was taught in the long long ago that the application key is synonymous with right-windows-key, even though they have different functions.

One of the computers we now have is a Dell, and this laptop does not have a right-windows button.  I’ve tried the right-mouse button, hoping to come up with the same options, but they are not the same.  For instance, to make a shortcut key to an app on the desktop, I have always right-clicked with the right-windows button, gon into Properties, and the Shortcut Key tab.  However, the right-mouse button on this dell does not get me to the properties.

So I guess I’m asking two questions.  1) What is the equivalent of the right-windows button on this Dell, and how can I creat shortcut keys on the desktop without right-clicking.  Again, the right-mouse button does not offer the same options.

Thanks very much.
