I haven't followed this thread but, when I hear, Parent Document, I go to the file menu, choose, Save as, and save it as a Adobe ...file. I don't recall the exact verbiage but, doing this saves the PDF file in Documents / My Documents folder and possibly the Downloads folder depending on where I saved to last.

I can't even get my IE to come up anymore. I moved on to Chrome a
couple of years ago and its pretty good.
