New Band Added?
whil all kind of pictures don't show compat chars for the IC7000 -- the control files are there and with an interface you can control the radio without issues.
you need to interface the sound as well as the CIV. Here the cost for RS-BA1 in the netherlands is EUR 69 so that's an easier decision (I have it for years though) |

Hi Bill !
Glad I could help you... There is also a "more easier" way... It is not necessary to tune from the "unwanted" frequency so many MHz up. You will have the same result when you select the 440MHz-band with "up" / "down" and then tune to 457MHz. The 440MHz-band will remain, and only the "extra-band" will be shifted. Just a tipp for the next time 😉 Good DX ! 73, Othmar OE1SOW |

Hi, George, DXCC Received
column show the application received between Mar.01 to Mar.10, so your request
is forthcoming. I also sent my QSLs to Germany, to DK7YY, so I am also waiting. There is no information yet on whether the Friedrihshafen meeting will take
place, but it appears that the Visalia meeting has been postponed. The meeting
in Daiton, OH is also questionable, so the distance forms must be used. I'll
help as long as you have another Card Checker instead of Cliff assigned to SV
Land. I have sent two other SV candidates information about the procedure but
have not yet responded. It's nice to know in the DXCC Desk that, although it
will be difficult for me, I will help
your fellow in SV with DXCC Award Program .
This is George, stay safe, make DXs,... Vesko LZ2JE

The final story for me on this is...while I could not remove it, Othmar's first post about tuning out of the band and then hitting up or down moves the unwanted channel. So I went to the 10.753 frequency I created, and tuned it to 457mhz(local police freq) and hit up. Voila it moved it to between 440 and 1.8. Out of my way but usable once in a while. Thanks all. Thanks Scott...yes to the first part you said(2 paragraphs). The second part will take some time to digest.
Thank you and Ill try those tips. Bill |

Bill: I had a chance to play with the radio a bit. I could not exactly replicate your issue, but I may have found a scenario that might make you think it's doing something like what you report. If I go to a VFO then set it to some frequency in the 5 MHz range and tap the up and down band buttons it always keeps showing me the 5 MHz band. However, if I then go to a memory that has the 10.753.40 frequency in it then tune around that frequency and hit the up/down band buttons it will move the "Extra band" to the 10.753 range and going back to vfo there's also no 5 MHz band anymore. Is this something like what you're doing? If, however, I store the 10.753.4 frequency in a memory, then go
to the 5 MHz range to make it move the extra band to that range
and then simply select memories including the 10.753 and don't
tune around that frequency in memory mode, and then go back to
VFO, the extra band is still at 5 MHz. So, if you either stay in VFO mode and set an extra band at 5 MHz and don't tune any other frequency that's not near a Ham band, the extra band will stay there. If you select a memory and then tune another frequency not near one of the Ham bands then use the up/down buttons, it's going to change it. If you don't use the up/down buttons after tuning to a non-ham band area while in memory mode, it won't move the extra band. I know that's about as clear as mud. The simple answer is don't tune away from a memory frequency and then use the up/down band buttons and it won't do that. Chuck - N8DNX On 3/11/2020 9:42 AM, Bill M wrote:
10.753.40 is the frequency it keeps going to. It is in the VFOA and "Memo". It appears on the List as well. I don't know but must have saved it to memory somewhere along the way. I have not been able to remove it from memory following the manual instructions either. Maybe a reset(ugh) is the answer. --

I wouldn't mind the extra band slot...just not there. |

OK Othmar and others. I moved the extra band to the 5 MHz position successfully...but hitting band up the extra band appears again between 30 and 20. Going back down the 5mhz band is gone. So that didn't work hi. Its getting fun as I run through all the menu's, once again familiarizing myself. But cannot find something that works for this issue.

You're welcome Bill...
Hmmm, how to eliminate it...I think the only way is to always remember how this works and if you tune out of an amateur-band, before you change bands, tune back into the ham-band... 73, Othmar OE1SOW |

Wednesdays are my day away from the office, so I'll be home and can play with my IC-7000 for a bit to test this before getting on to other important things. (Cleaning up the shack, for example.) If you could send me the frequency near the 30 Meter band where it's creating this band and how you're getting back to the 30 Meter band and testing that it's selected that extra band again, I can try this on my radio and perhaps get some more info for you. The more information the better. Chuck - N8DNX On 3/10/2020 3:33 PM, Bill M wrote:
I am not sure which question is being answered since another topic has been introduced. Each time I have tried the instructions given to move the extra band or to change it, it moves but when I go back to the 30 meter positition it again shows two. And yes to someone who asked is it outside the ham band and the answer is yes but close to 30 meter band. So again I do not know how I created this extra band slot on the up and down. Does anyone know how to remove it? |

Bill, the only thing you have to do is:
With "band up" or "band down" go to the 40m-band. Then tune down to 5,xxx MHz with the tuning knob. Next step...with pushing "band up" you should be again on 40m. The new "extra-band" should be now between the 80m- and the 40m-band. If you don't tune out of any other ham-bands, the "extra-band" with 5,xxx MHz will remain there. 73, Othmar, OE1SOW |
