I'd say that would be a big mistake, if true.  The 7100 might be a great rig, but it seems ergonomically ill-suited to mobile use.  Cost of the 7100 is another matter and how many hams would have use for all the high-tech like D-Star in a mobile application?

I saw a posting in the Winlink_Programs group that the 7K was discontinued at the end of December, per a post from Vancouver, BC.  
 
I don't see any announcements from Icom or US distributors, but that isn't unusual.
 
Has anyone else seen evidence of the 7K's EOL?
