New IC7000 owner .
I agree the IC7000 is no more sensitive to voltage than any other radio I've tested. If you're having problems then it's most likely in your power wiring. By the way, Icom got screwed by a vendor who

Field Day question
Okay I tried to respond to this but it hasn't posted.I don't feel like typing it all over again so I'm going to wait and see if it finally shows up

Field Day question
I don't mean to be argumentative but I'm pretty sure you're wrong. PIN 2 connects to the CPU and is a multi function pin. For example shorting the pin to ground during RX will make the frequency go up

Field Day question headphone splitter with volume control
By the way this is very similar to what I use, The only difference is mine has a 90 degree 3.5 mm plug. I just order 20 of them to keep on hand for local hams who may want one. You would be surprised

Field Day question
As a matter fact I'm pretty sure it does, It's an undocumented feature of pin 2. Pin 2 is what Icom calls a multi purpose pin. You can alter the function of pin two or other pins such as pin 8, Pin 8

I'm going to repost this as it doesn't seem as though the first one came through, I've also edited it substantially so be forewarned It's more about field day setup and it covers more than simply gene

Field Day question
Wow where to start, Well first thing is to completely ignore the BS about the IC-7000 overheating, It's utter nonsense, the rig doesn't run any hotter than any other rig it's size. This crap was start

[IC-7000] Available
"Good luck at that price. With the IC-7300 now available at not much more than your price, I think folk would rather opt for the IC-7300" Does the 7300 now include VHF and UHF all mode ? Last time I c

Oh for pete sakes when will that stupid myth die? there is and never has been an overheating issue ! This all started because a few morons mounted their 7000 in zero clearance enclosures and preceded

[IC-7000] Temperature question
I had a chance to evaluate their 40 amp N8XJK Super booster and was pleased with it's performance. It's well worth the money. the fact that it only "boosts" voltage during transmit is great for extend

Arrived today!
That's Interesting, sounds as though you're suffering the effects of excessive levels of stray RF and common mode making it back to the rig. I don't necessarily think it's a problem with the rig but r

[IC-7000] Digest Number 4393
Isn't this stuff on the test anymore? Even though it seems to work, You really shouldn't be using the microphone port on the IC-7000 for 1200 baud FM data connections. The issue here is FM pre-emphasi
