Re: No power up
Is this a know problem or did you find these defective components through your own trouble shooting? Either way, good job on the repair.

Re: No power up
Here is what I found with about 3 hours of TS.
Disassembled Display unit and replaced defective surface mount C501 and C502.
Removed Main unit and replaced defective surface mount R2011.

For Sale: $300 OBO: IC-700 with an issue
Hi, all. I'm selling my IC-7000 which has unstable power output on all bands.
The HF finals went out on this radio. I decided to take the challenge of replacing them myself. I had no trouble

Re: Getting Old (hi hi)
I traded up or moved up to an IC-718 from a TS-120. It came with the DSP module that I installed. That was a big upgrade. After working 100 countries on 80 meter SSB, I was desperate for some CW

Funny that you have to pay a premium for less.
The LAB599 PA-500 is nice looking with an 50-80 watt amp and auto tuner.
Bu the time you have added the accessories it looks like you will have over

Re: Getting Old (hi hi)
Steve,
The IC-705 and 7300 do have the same screen, but the front on the 705 is smaller.
There is a lot to like about the 705 over the 7300.

Maybe an IC-705 with amplifier and tuner?
I have one on my bench in for a MARS mod and it is a nice rig, but I would want that 100 watt amp with a built in tuner.
I am not particularly into QRP and

Today I don't think that there would be $ 5.00 difference in the color display and the monochrome and that would be offset by the sales, easily.

Re: Getting Old (hi hi)
That's a really good point--why no current color display similar to the 7000? That display, IMHO, is what made a good radio a really cool radio.

Re: Getting Old (hi hi)
If they just made the IC-7100 with a color display!.
I kinda like the sloping front on the desk and it can work mobile, but that has to be thought out a little more.
I had three IC-7000s and loved

No issues aside from replacing the inline fuse holders with a in line

Re: Getting Old (hi hi)
It’s been worth it.
I have a 7000, if I don’t use it for a month, I have to get out the book.
Ran the 705 for six months before the amp.
Worked a bunch on 10 watts, even ‘dx pile-ups.
