Icom 7000 phenomenon
A couple of years ago I had a chance to use an Icom 7000 for a little while, and I experienced something I really haven't seen with another rig, wonder if anyone has had a similar problem with a 7000.

It's the PC's clock that is important, not the rigs. Think of all the
operators running JT65 that have rigs with NO clock. You need reasonable
frequency calibration and low drift in the rigs VFO but

There you go. Give it a try. I have repaired one of these but not from coffee. Be careful with the surface mount components. They can be dislodged faily easily and it can be difficult to

I thought that only the computer running JT-65 needs to be very accurate. The clock in the radio is not used when sending/received data.

I think you will find the 7000 quite enjoyable. There are a lot of
features packed into a small package. For one, the Noise Reduction mode
actually works and does a phenomenal job. Great for AM
