Nope...it keeps going back to 10.753 hi.

Re: New Band Added?

Thanks Chuck...I'll do that. Probably put it in CW portion of 75 and leave the original on the high end for SSB.

I can't answer your question, but it's along the lines of a problem I have.

My IC-7000 is primarily for 2m and 70cm, but it's my backup rig for HF-6 also.  The problem is that I use it so infrequently that the menu structure messes me up.

Complex menus are an issue with all smaller rigs because, well, they don't have the panel space.  What I'd dearly love to see is a piece of software that controls the radio and gives a front panel that requires less button pushing.  Especially the kind of button where if you just push it, the button does one thing, but if you hold it down two seconds it does something else, and if you hold it down three seconds while standing on your left foot, it's different than if you're standing on your right foot.  OK, I made that last one up, but I think you know it seems like that sometimes.

For what it's worth, I can control the rig (to some extent) with Ham Radio Deluxe but it doesn't do what I'd like.  I think the last time I tried something like changing the IF filter in HRD, it changed something else at the same time.  I need to check that.  The problem is, for an obsolete radio that a few of us own, it's not going to get the attention it would get if it was a something like the IC-7300 that everybody is interested in. I doubt anyone would do it.

Bill:

Select the band you want to move while in VFO mode. Press TS to select fast dial then spin to the frequency where you want this extra "band". Press TS to go back to normal dial speed. Now press the Band up/down buttons that that should be your extra band.

Don't know how to erase it. I suppose this is really just a "General" band that always ends up where you left it.

I actually like the idea....just not between 30 and 20...

Bill:

I used an IC-7000 in my truck for quite some time before having to retire it to my shack, so you'd think I would just know this. I'm pretty sure though that the 7000 will remember one band in addition to the standard Ham bands based on what was last used outside of the Ham bands.

What you seem to be saying is that it now has two 30 Meter bands as you use the band up/down buttons. Is one of them close to the 30 Meter Ham band but not in it?

Try going to some other non-ham frequency range, such as AM broadcast or something, then use the up/down band buttons again to see if that's now the additional band.

MTTY config for IC-7000

I am trying to set up N1MM to run RTTY using the MTTY digital engine. I am using a Signalink Interface. Do I keep the rig in USB mode like I do for other digital programs, such as HRD for PSK31?

Wanted: MFJ-760 or MFJ-7000 Emcomm

bobsayers2000 <bobsayers2000@...>

Hi, All,

I'm still looking for a nice MFJ-706 or MFJ-7000 here in the UK (overseas deals would probably not be effective because of the weight). I wrote the original review in PW and was talked into selling mine, and have regretted it ever since!

If you want to part with an IC-706 Mk2G or IC-7000 at the same time I would certainly consider buying, but would want to do a deal against my IC-7200. Various other ham / military / marine radio items could be included in any deal.

Best regards,

Bob

Thanks.  One more thing to try;  I was thinking of hanging headset on the cable to hear whether there are any signals coming through the cable, too.

Take care

Re: looking control panel

You could connect the 7000's video o/p using a switch to the reversing camera input to the vehicle display. The switch would also put a 'dummy' reverse signal to the display unit. I did this for my caravan rear camera.

I have my 7000's video running through an aux input to my vehicle GPS. Works great as a head up display whilst driving.

Gosh, I have 2 IC7000 and 1 IC706, and my primary rig is an IC7300.  None are for sale, though I am always open to offers.  The 706 has the cord that goes between the controls and the body of the unit.  Like I said, I’m open to offers (on the 706 and both 7000s)

Hope you find a solution to your problems.
