Dear All,
Apologies for the self-promotion!

Some of you may be interested in the publication of our new co-edited volume on
Muslims and Humour: Essays on Comedy, Joking, and Mirth in Contemporary Islamic Contexts, edited by Bernard Schweizer and Lina Molokotos-Liederman with Yasmin Amin (Bristol University Press, 2022).
The collection offers a multi-disciplinary approach to the connections between Islam, Muslims and humour. Beginning with theoretical perspectives on the subject and scriptural guidance on permissible and restricted humour in Islam, the volume presents case studies of Muslim comedic practices in various cultural, political and religious contexts, offering keen insights into the place of humour and laughter in Islam.
The book is available in print (hardcover) and also as an e-book. See: https://bristoluniversitypress.co.uk/muslims-and-humour

Feel free to notify your university departments that the book is now available and to recommend the book to your library and/or as a teaching resource for a course. Library purchases are mainly driven by direct requests from academics or their reading lists!

Hi Linda
Well-done! It is a lot of work. I know some scholars whose chapters are in the book which makes me sure the book is a must read one.

All the bests
