Perfect male Red Breasted Merg on Hudson just north of RT 150 on 9J on Castleton.  Heading north on the water.

Female just popped up too.

Yet another shining example of subject lines that employ elitistist and unacceptable phrases.  This so discourages the novice birders.  Please put an end to this practice.  Subject lines should contain full common names of species.

HMBirds is moderated when needed, though its moderators generally rely on voluntary compliance and don't find it necessary to intervene in the case of relatively minor violations of the listserv guidelines (which were reposted just a day ago, in case you missed them).
