dunlin - wright's loop
found a single dunlin transitioning into alternate plumage just now at wright's loop. it's in the presence of a few least sandpipers, at least 8 lesser yellowlegs, and a few solitary sand. no greater yellowlegs out here right now.
the attached shaky digiscope shot of the dunlin at least shows the droopy bill profile and some patches of black belly plumage coming in around the legs. the prominent white outer rump patches were also visible when the bird was preening.
