Five Rivers EEC today April 9

Denise and I birded Five Rivers EEC this morning; highlights included FOY (for us, at least) Swamp Sparrow (wild turkey trail), Pine Warbler - at least 4 individuals, both along the Vlomankill trail and upstream and up the hill from that, in the pines just nw of the vlomankill pavilion, and one very loud Louisiana Waterthrush along the Vlomankill, and Chipping sparrow next to the visitor center. Continuing recent arrivals include Eastern Meadowlark (big field) and increasing numbers of Field Sparrow. A male N. Harrier flew over the field by the research ponds. - Scott Stoner, Loudonville, NY.
