Callahan Rd.


Seen along Callahan Rd. in Washington County (Northumberland area, between West River & Colebrook Rd.), late Wed. afternoon (5-7 p.m.):

boblink, meadowlark, flicker, kestrel, red-winged blackbird, northern oriole (seeing & hearing lots of those all over lately), song sparrow, tree swallow, barn swallow, goldfinch, downy woodpecker, wood thrush (singing beautifully), eastern kingbird, three Canada geese (who scattered a flock of ring-billed gulls from a newly-plowed field), crow, killdeer, yellow warbler, yellow-rumped warbler.

Also, green frogs making their rubber-band sounds.

Chimney swifts (around 7:30) were twittering around downtown Glens Falls.
