5ish redpolls were feeding with some goldfinches in the larches near Englewood Place in Washington Park. I’ll check my photos later.

Northumberland Redpoll Photos
Looks like a pretty clear-cut Hoary inasmuch as such a thing exists - unmarked undertail coverts, very diffuse streaking on the breast, and a noticeably small, pushed in bill.

I cannot speak for CBCs but eBird reviewers don’t generally use countability to evaluate whether a sighting can be confirmed. (There are exceptions to this, like when a sighting is rejected by a state

I believe the state releases them there for hunters. (Or so a ranger told me once when he saw me walking along the new trail and mistook my scope for a firearm.)

Snowy Owl - 13 January
I checked this morning and didn't see the bird, but it was early in the day and there was a lot of traffic, so i couldn't stop and was birding at 55 mph.

eBird Checklist - 12 Jan 2021 - Staats Island Rd., Schodack - 3 species (+1 other taxa)
For what it's worth, Barnacle Geese are much smaller than Canada Geese - only slightly larger than a Cackling Goose - and their bodies are a frosty gray - especially on the back - not brown.

Tree Swallows in Greenwich
Hi Scott, any chance you got photos? Any swallow this late is very unusual and it’s good to rule out some exotic possibilities.

The man who lives in the home behind the church just told me he feels very uncomfortable with people taking photos in his backyard and asked me to leave.
