Yes - we were there from 2:45 ‘til 4 and the bird was very cooperative.

Seems like it’s routine is to be at the same place first thing in the morning and late in the day. Check out my pix on FB. Larry Federman .

For those of us who aren't such fans of the morning, has anyone seen the bird later in the day? Sent from my phone. Please excuse typos etc.!

Re: Sage Thrasher YES

Yes. Friday. The bird was on the ground first, at 2:50pm, in the field east of the favored buckthorn then made its way to the bush. It stayed in the back until it flew off to the east, back on the ground at 4:20.

Evening Grosbeaks (Glenville)
Alan
Just discovered 5 Evening Grosbeaks on one of my platform feeders, soon joined by 2 more on the ground - until a Red-bellied Woodpecker "asked" the two late arrivals to leave.
(Eastern Bluebirds around the yard most days and almost always seen on our walks.) Clear skies, Alan Glenville

Sage Thrasher yes right before sunset
Brian Smith
Saw the sage thrasher at Ooms at about 4:30, same location posted. Many thanks to the spotters and posters.
Was hidden for about 10 minutes when I got there. Then it posed graciously. Hope it finds it's way home to a nice sage bush out west once everyone has had a good look.
Cheers!

Did it again, dammit I will NOT be at Vischer Ferry tomorrow - we have a mega-rare bird at Ooms Conservation Area in Chatham. SAGE THRASHER has only two state reports since the '70s and I'd rather chase that than look at plain old ducks. I hope to be there 7am-ish - join me if you wish! https://www.google.com/maps/dir//Ooms+Conservation+Area+at+Sutherland+Pond,+480+Rock+City+Rd,+Chatham,+NY+12037/@42.4029548,-73.5717255,17z/data=!4m9!4m8!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x89ddf12fcc328425:0x29ffeb921d01d172!2m2!1d-73.5695315!2d42.4029548!3e0?hl=en&authuser=0 Naomi

Red-necked Grebes at Carters Lake, Greenwich
Scott Varney
I hiked the trails at Carter's Lske in Greenwich on Saturday and found 3 Black Ducks hanging out separately, but near a pair of Red-necked Grebes in the open water viewed from the first observation platform. Both grebes were showing adult non-breeding plumage with dark backs, reddish-brown sides of the neck, and white along the front of the neck. Bills were entirely yellow. Also picked out 2 Rusty Blackbirds near the inland swamp area near the 2nd observation platform. Dark-eyed Juncos made an appearance near the Boardwalk Pine trees. Happy Birding, Scott Varney Salem, NY
