Red-necked Grebes at Carters Lake, Greenwich

I hiked the trails at Carter's Lske in Greenwich on Saturday and found 3 Black Ducks hanging out separately, but near a pair of Red-necked Grebes in the open water viewed from the first observation platform.  Both grebes were showing adult non-breeding plumage with dark backs, reddish-brown sides of the neck, and white along the front of the neck.  Bills were entirely yellow.  Also picked out 2 Rusty Blackbirds near the inland swamp area near the 2nd observation platform. Dark-eyed Juncos made an appearance near the Boardwalk Pine trees.

Happy Birding,
