Raptor Fest at Schodack Island State Park- Saturday May 20th
Raptor Fest - May 20, 2017 : 8:00am - 4:00pm
Audubon Society of the Capital Region will co-host Raptor Fest at Schodack Island State Park on Saturday, May 20. Guests will have a chance to learn about raptors and their conservation by interacting with live birds, building nest boxes, watching eagles, and even dissecting owl pellets. Speakers at the event will include National Geographic-featured videographer, Mike Lemery, who will show stunning bald eagle footage, as well as local author, Darryl McGrath, who will talk about her book, Flight Paths: A Field Journal of Hope, Heartbreak, and Miracles with New York's Bird People. The day will begin with bird walks at 8am and 9:30am, and the main event will be from 10am until 4pm.
Raptor Fest will be fun and educational for all ages, with kids' activities, including a bounce house and arts and crafts. Lunch will be available all day from the Schodack Landing Fire Department Barbecue. There is no cost for admission to Raptor Fest; however, there will be a fee of $6 per vehicle to enter the Park.
