One of North America's Largest

It was great to hang out at Cohoes flats with Bruce D. today. A fisherman said that he has seen this Pelican at the flats for at least one week. I noticed on eBird that the Am Wht Pelican was last recorded before this sighting at the Montezuma Reserve in 2005 and on Long Island in 2000. It is one of North America's largest birds: 65 inches tall; 9.5 ft wingspan; 20 lbs--way bigger than a Bald Eagle! Thanks to all who first noted this bird for us the rest of us.
