New HAB Program Letter Issued - COVID-19 Impact on RWHAP Clinical and Programmatic Operations and Outcomes
The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) understands that the COVID-19 public health emergency has had a significant impact on our Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program recipients and subrecipients and your ability to provide HIV care and treatment services to people with HIV. HRSA HAB acknowledges this impact and wants to provide guidance to address your concerns.
In response, this week we released a new program letter regarding the COVID-19 public health emergency and its impact on clinical and programmatic operations and workflows and, subsequently, on client services, performance measure data, and health outcomes. This letter is located on the HAB website under Policy Notices and Program Letters.
Draft STI National Strategic Plan Available for Public Comment
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), through the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health and its Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP), has been coordinating the development of the first-ever STI National Strategic Plan to address the nation’s STI epidemic by federal partners throughout HHS and other departments.
OIDP has published a Request for Information (RFI) in the Federal Register to solicit input on the draft STI National Strategic Plan. HHS seeks input from a broad mix of stakeholders on whether the plan’s goals, objectives, and strategies appropriately address the STI epidemic and whether there are any critical gaps.
The draft STI National Strategic Plan and a link to the Federal Register notice are posted on www.hhs.gov/STI.
