handling data after disk failure
Peter Doughty G3TKK
Hello
I have had a hard disc failure (running Win10) that I realised was the issue so I moved Logger32, with all my logs within, to a external disk I had available and it worked well for the days I waited for help with my PC. It has now had a new ssd and is updated to Win11. I am having difficulty in getting the program and data onto the new hard drive. When I have done copy/paste the program opens but with no data showing except straingly I can see the name of my logbook in faint view! The data is there, I can see all the elements. Can anyone give me a heads up as what I might need to do to get it all working before I mess up the data. I have got the WSJTX program up and running with its logbook all there and working so I think the work done on the PC is OK.. Thanks Peter G3TKK |

Is it possible that the much copied and pasted Logger32 is looking in the wrong place for your logbook? That would explain an empty logbook. The fully qualified logbook name is shown in the title bar of the logbook page window. Is that really where the logbook is, or do you need to change logbooks (click FILE | CHANGE LOGBOOK)?
Only 12 days to go. SeventyThree(s).

Peter,
Man I feel for you. I've had Logger32 running on my desktop a 10 yr old Dell and a net book that is at least 10 yrs old. Both are running Win 7 (the desktop us running64 bit and the netbook is running 32 bit). I just bought a new computer for the new radio desk I built in the remodeled ham shack. I spent about 2 days trying to get logger up and running on the Windows 11 machine. Check out this post I did about some of the problems I was having getting Logger running. After 2 days of trying various things and attacking 1 problem at a time, I got it up and running again and all my data is moved. Good luck & 73s -- JohnT WA4OHZ Virginia Beach, VA |

Bob & John Many thanks for your help. I am up and running again, no data lost and all backups etc back in place. My problems were, in great part, due to the reality was that I had been running with little or no problems from the time we moved on to v4 . My recollections of what does what had faded along with all the other complications of the ageing process. Looking forward to a few more stable years DXing with no more crashes. 73s Peter G3TKK ------ Original Message ------
