DX Spots window not populating as Telnet spots arrive

Barry GM3YEH

When taking Telnet spots from VE7CC my Telnet window displays the spots and they also appear in the DX Spots window.  All good and as expected.

When taking Telnet spots from Slicemaster (127.0.0.1:7300) my Telnet window displays the spots but the DX Spots window is not being populated.  No filters are active.

Have been looking for a solution for over a week now without success.  Any suggestions very welcome.

Tnx es 73,

From your description, Slicemaster is software that feeds DX Spots to the Localhost port 7300. The cluster window shows the raw text as received. The text is then processed to determine what kind of message it is - WWV, TALK, WX, ANNOUNCE, or maybe even the occasional DX Spot. Each message type must conform exactly to the standard format or it is not recognized, With DX Spots there are more 'standards' than I have had XYLs. So, it you compare a DX Spot line of text from VE7CC and a DX Spot from Slicemaster you should be able to see the difference. SeventyThree(s).

Thanks Bob.  Your mention of spot formats coming from different sources has helped me to solve my problem.  The only control available in Slicemaster to change the spot format it produces is the one to 'Append slice label to spotter's callsign':

I had this box checked which was adding extra characters to my callsign at the start of every spot.  Unchecking this option results in the start of each spot simply being my callsign (with no extra characters).

All perfect now.  Many thanks and 73,
