Hello
I want to change a port number in the CW engine.
So I go to config--keyersetup
But then the keyer shuts down.
What can I do?

The new port is native, virtual, shared ?
Have you checked that it is not occupied by another application?
Have you tried that new port with another application? N1MM for example.

CW engine ? I suppose you mean CW Machine. I do not know which mode you are using, Software, Winkey or Winkey 2. But have you tried to run CW machine with default settings ? Does CW Machine disappear when you open setup window ? (Delete CW.ini and run CW machine)

Do'nt know where to find the default settings
CW machine dissapear when I open setup window
I did delete the CW.ini but the same thing happens.
When
I start the engine I see that the com port is invalid. So I
want to change this port but the engine does not let me do
this.
And when I start Logger 32 the rig (IC7300)
goes into transmitting a carrier. (because I
use a dedicatet port for cw)
I have made another virtual com port but no luck
I also edited the cw ini and put the comport in it but stil
the same.

There are 2 ways to use software mode Are you using external adapter which convert serial output to key output (connected to IC7300 key input)? Or are you using keying via USB which is connected to IC7300 USB port ?

I do not know why CW machine disappears. Delete Logger32.ini and CW.ini. Run Logger32. Does CW machine disappear ?
BTW if you use USB keying then you should check "Share radio serial port for CW" and "CW keying use DTR...." You should use same com port for CAT and CW keying. In IC7300 you should select DTR CW keying.

Its getting weirder no.
I have installed a new Logger32 on a different HD.
After the install I open logger32 but it immediate closes
again...
Oh well I give up.
I do not want to install Windows 11 again as I loose several
programs then.
I only use Logger on this PC as a parallel logbook.

If you open the CW machine, and click the minus on the left upper corner of the CW machine , it always disappears. Then on the menu, the CW machine changes color from blue to grey. It no longer can be accessed. If you open the CW machine and then want to close it and make it disappear, you click the upper right hand X,. The CW machine on the menu remains colored in blue but it can be reopened by clicking the CW machine in the menu.

BTW if you use USB keying then you should check "Share
radio serial port for CW" and
"CW keying use DTR...." You should use same com port for
CAT and CW keying.
In IC7300 you should select DTR CW keying.

I have made another virtual com port but
no luck
