IC-7610, Win4Icom and Logger32
Jim Simon
I'm looking for help figuring out why I am unable to get L32 to track the frequency and mode of the IC-7610. I am running 2 rigs on L32, an IC-7610 (Radio2) through Win4Icom, and an FTDX-101MP (Radio1), through Win4Yaesu. L32 tracks any changes in the frequency and mode of the 101MP flawlessly, and logs all contacts accurately. However, not so for L32 and the IC-7610. When I reopen L32 each time I change rigs to the IC-7610, the Log Entry Pane for some reason opens showing some recently-used frequency and mode, but then is stuck there all day, despite any band and mode changes. If I am logging contacts on ssb or cw, the callsign I type into the Log Entry Pane is properly logged, but then I have to go back to the Logbook Page to manually correct the band and mode of each contact. However, if I switch to operating in FT8/FT4, even though the frequency and mode in the Log Entry Pane is still stuck in the same incorrect band/mode, for some reason the digital contacts are accurately logged In the Logbook page as to band and mode. I have checked and rechecked the configuration/settings for the IC-7610 in L32, but I can’t find the source of the problem that is causing the CAT-related coordination problem with L32. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any suggestions as to what to look for? Thanks es 73, Jim W1YY |

Jim I have 2 radios, TS480 and ic7610. I setup TS480 as radio 1 and ic7610 as radio 2. When changing radio I only click radio 1 or radio 2 in radio pane menu in status bar. All works as expected for CW, SSB, FT4 and FT8. I do not know how you setup your radio with win4icom. Please explain details. How it works when you do not use win4icom ? 73 de aki JA1NLX

Aki,
Thanks for the quick reply. Further testing indicated it was comport-related problem, and a change of comports fixed everything. As for Win4Icom, here's a link which will explain its functions better than I can: https://icom.va2fsq.com/. 73, Jim W1YY |
