JTDX Control panel does not switch bands

Joseph LaFerla

I have recently experienced the following problem.  I am using cherry picking with JTDX. The JTDX Control Panel opens correctly but when I click on any of the bands nothing happens.  The cherry picker viewer shows that I clicked the Halt TX button instead with any of the band button presses.  I can change modes fine.  When I right click on any of the band buttons, a window opens up showing the correct band information for each button.

I have searched the venerable help file but could not find anything.  Anyone know what I am doing wrong?  Thanks in advance.

You said: I have recently experienced the following problem. Do you mean it has worked before, but has stopped? SeventyThree(s).

Yes, but it was before I had reinstalled Windows a long time ago.  But since the reinstallation of windows and loogger32 this has been the case.  I did not worry much about it until now.

Since the original implementation of the JTDX control panel in Logger32 there have been no code changes to the JTDX Band/Mode change code in Logger32. For once, I got it right on the first try. SeventyThree(s).

When JTDX start from UDP BandMap Start menu, you should see like this.
a. Text "JTDX control panel" is displayed like this.

b. and JTDX title bar show

c. then JTDX title bar change

This means that JTDX is now ready to be controlled by JTDX control panel (Band and Mode)
Do you see "Logger32" in JTDX title bar ?

Aki, I suspect Logger32 is connecting to JTDX as expected. It was reported that mode change is working as expected, but not band change. There was reference to 'reinstalling', so it is possible that INI settings for all bands FT4/FT8 settings are lost. But, it was also mentioned that these settings have been checked. C'est la vie. Hi all

Thanks for this.  I can report that the control panel does connect correctly to logger32, or at least the snippets you showed are what I see.  And perhaps, to be more correct, the Control Panel DOES "work" but is reporting wrong results in the event viewer but there is one result for each button press.  It's like the panel is getting the wrong data from somewhere.  I don't know if 'm confusing the issue.

Let's go through this step by step ...

How are you starting JTDX, by clicking the Start/Stop menu on the UDP BandMap?

When JTDX is started, look at the JTDX Control Panel. Can you see what Band/Mode JTDX is on?

Now look at JTDX. Do the JTDX Control Panel Band/Mode match what JTDX Band/Mode are?

Hi Bob

Yes, to the three questions.  So the control panel seems to be starting correctly, in my view.

I may be out most of the day so may not be very quick with responses.

Hi Aki

Yes I see that in all the bands.  The numbers are correct. for both bands.

Moving right along ...

When you change the mode on the JTDX Control Panel, does JTDX change mode?

When you change band on the JTDX Control Panel does JTDX change? If not, looking carefully at the JTDX frequency readout do you see the frequency change?

Change the band on JTDX, does the JTDX Control Panel follow?

Hi Bob
Same just happed to me, tried to qsy to 17M using the button on the Control Panel, nothing. Screenshot attached.
Mode changes OK (Control Panel to JTDX and vice versa).
Also if I change the rig manually JTDX and the Control Panel follow.
Cheers

Did that, no change. The Led turned a sort of orangey colour if that helps
