Help,I am running 2 instances of logger.Under tools>database maintenance>logbook details it shows one log has 16,016.

The other instance shows 16,010.I took a imported file from the 16,016 computer and imported it into the other log file.It still shows 16.010…With that I am sure there are dupes in the 16,016 file.

My question…Is there a way to find dupes in Logger? What is the recommended way to compare files and look for dupes? Thank you..

I used this once and it worked fine...

http://www.sp7dqr.pl/en/converters.php#DUPE_SELECTOR

You can also use the clublog utility to compare two ADI files.

There are no duplicates in your logbook. Every contact has a unique timestamp. You may have a QSO entered several times, but each entry will have a unique timestamp.

So, creating an ADIF export of the logbook with 16,016 QSOs and importing it to the logbook with 16,010 QSOs should import the missing 6 QSOs and the BAD.ADI file should have 16,010 errors saying QSO is already in the log.

If the missing 6 QSOs are not imported, then there is an error in the ADIF record (like invalid STATE or CNTY) that prevents the QSO from being imported. Look in the BAD.ADI file for 6 QSOs that were not imported for a reason other than already in the log.

Sorry Bob I thought you may not need that info
But my security setting are the same yours and virus software is standard win 10 programs never had to change anything
But seeing someone else has the same probs as me is somewhat strange as it’s not seen on the reflector before Or I’ve not seen it
