ADIF import problem - several QSOs in the same time (hour/minute)

Zdenek Sebek

Hi all,
i have problem importing an ADIF file from our yesterday's Christmas VHF contest into Logger32 v 3.50.374.. Everytime when there are two QSOs made within a single minute, then the 2nd qso fails to import saying "Too many duplicate Date/Time QSOs - Max tries to fix this is 40:  " in the bad.adi file. Interesting point is, that on the first occasion of such "2 qso within minute" both QSOs were imported fine.

Here is an example from the import file:
<Call:6>OK1IEI<QSO_Date:8>20181226<Time_On:4>0805<Band:2>2m<Mode:3>SSB
<RST_SENT:2>59<STX:1>6<RST_RCVD:2>59<SRX:1>3
<GRIDSQUARE:6>JO70EC<QRB:2>41<CONTEST_ID:22>Christmas Contest 2018
<eor>
<Call:6>OK1KKL<QSO_Date:8>20181226<Time_On:4>0805<Band:2>2m<Mode:3>SSB
<RST_SENT:2>59<STX:1>7<RST_RCVD:2>59<SRX:2>12
<GRIDSQUARE:6>JO70PO<QRB:3>126<CONTEST_ID:22>Christmas Contest 2018
<eor>

and the record in BAD.ADI:
Too many duplicate Date/Time QSOs - Max tries to fix this is 40:  <Call:6>OK1KKL<QSO_Date:8>20181226<Time_On:4>0805<Band:2>2m<Mode:3>SSB<RST_SENT:2>59<STX:1>7<RST_RCVD:2>59<SRX:2>12<GRIDSQUARE:6>JO70PO<QRB:3>126<CONTEST_ID:22>Christmas Contest 2018<eor>

I have successfully re-imported the BAD.ADI after having manually modified the Time_On field to include also the seconds part, e.g. <Time_On:6>080530, but I consider this as a temporary workaround only. It looks like something got broken in the ADIF import functionality recently. I have checked couple of other ADIF files imported in the past, almost all contain such double-QSOs and all were imported without any problem.

Anybody else having such issue?

I know that if I manually add a contest log cannot manually add several QSOs with identical times. I have to adjust the QSO time of second QSO by a few seconds for both to show, perhaps its something to do with this.

Does your logging programme for VHF only record hours and minutes?

hi
most probably yes, at least only hr+min are present in the EDI file, which I am used to convert to ADI before importing it to the Logger. But as I wrote, in the past I was able to import logs having such QSOs with the same timestamp without any issue - all my VHF logs from past 7 years (30+ logs/contests).

I just played with couple of previous Logger32 versions. Up to version 3.50.372 this log imports without any problem - all QSOs, even those having the same timestamp (hour+minute). Starting with version 3.50.373 those QSOs, which have the same timestamp, as the previous QSO, fail to import.

Looks like a bug.  It works exactly as coded - poorly.  Please send (by direct eMail) a copy of your ADIF file so that I can test the fix. SeventyThree(s).
